Upland Contracting Ltd. is a civil construction contractor located in Campbell River situated on Vancouver Island. We are involved in construction of residential and commercial developments, civil road works, mining and aggregate sales.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates, analyzing designs, and collaborating with project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Effective communication with clients and contract administrators
- Plans and oversees the start to finish execution of assigned projects by identifying project risks, developing project plans, and implementing contingency plans.
- Visit sites to ensure compliance with KPI, safety and quality targets.
- Utilize heavy job software to ensure accurate job costing and progress is captured
- Manage subcontracts and subtrades.
- Develop and maintain project schedule using Microsoft Project
- Perform quantity take offs
- Procure materials
- Monitor resource allocation and assist in weekly resource scheduling.
- Open communication with team to ensure successful implementation of work plans, activities and resource allocation.
- Maintaining open lines of communication with clients and their representatives in the field.
- Ability to work weekends or on call as required.
Skills
- Minimum of 10 years experience in civil / heavy construction industry or applicable post-secondary education in a related field.
- Proficient in the use of of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook
- Heavy Job, Heavy Bid and CAD software experience preferred. Training will be provided to suitable candidate.
- Comprehensive understanding of contract administration and contract law.
- Valid BC driver license
- Candidate must be willing to relocate to Campbell River
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accuracy in estimates.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
