Role



The Project Manager - Environmental Certification plays a strategic role within the TST team, leveraging deep expertise in environmental certification, ESG strategy, and the optimization of energy and water performance. Their know-how is crucial to the success of TST, managing projects from planning to execution, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. In close collaboration with design, engineering, and operations teams, they gather compliance evidence, enhance project performance, and maximize certification scores. Proactive and meticulous, they maintain smooth communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal partners. Through leadership and dedication, they directly contribute to project success while embodying TST's values of innovation, respect, performance, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities



Project Management and Coordination

Plan, monitor, and coordinate assigned projects. Ensure timelines, costs, and quality objectives are met. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Adjust work plans based on project developments and challenges.
Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

Analyze project performance and identify gaps. Implement corrective actions and optimize internal processes. Produce detailed reports for full transparency. Communicate results regularly to stakeholders.
Client Relationship and Satisfaction Management

Act as the main point of contact for clients and provide responsive follow-up. Maintain proactive and transparent communication. Anticipate client expectations and propose tailored solutions for maximum satisfaction.
Strategic Development and Innovation

Contribute to improving project management methods and internal processes. Stay updated on industry trends and suggest innovations to meet market needs. Collaborate with internal teams to optimize service offerings.
Health and Safety

Ensure compliance with safety standards across all operations. Promote a culture of prevention and safety within the team and projects.

Specific Tasks in Environmental Certification



Environmental certifications (LEED, BOMA BEST, Zero Carbon Building, GRESB, WELL, etc.) are essential tools for measuring and enhancing the sustainable performance of buildings and organizations. They ensure the adoption of best practices in energy efficiency, GHG emission reductions, and occupant well-being.

Planning :

Define objectives, timelines, and resources for each project. Identify stakeholders and coordinate with clients and data providers. Set certification goals based on regulations, industry standards, and client expectations. Identify applicable evaluation criteria for the targeted certification type. Develop a certification schedule aligned with project phases. Plan and organize preliminary site visits to assess conditions and identify gaps. Analyze potential funding and grants linked to certification and prepare applications.
Initial Assessment and Diagnostics

Conduct preliminary performance analysis of the building or project. Compare current performance to certification benchmarks. Evaluate potential credits and determine optimal strategies to maximize certification.
Data Collection and Management

Oversee performance tests, site inspections, and on-site measurements (air quality, energy efficiency, lighting, noise, etc.). Supervise technical data collection, including energy use, air quality, material usage, and water management.

Qualifications Knowledge



Bachelor's degree in building mechanics, electrical engineering, architecture, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of project management experience. 5-10 years of experience in ESG and environmental certifications (LEED, BOMA BEST, Zero Carbon Building, GRESB, WELL, etc.) At least 5 years of experience in energy and water performance control and building sciences (Energy Star Portfolio Manager, Athena Impact Estimator, RETScreen) Minimum 2 years of experience in GHG inventory, building life cycle analysis, and climate risk assessments LEED O+M professional accreditation Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with building codes, standards, and certification systems Construction site health and safety certification Valid driver's license and willingness to travel in Quebec, Ontario, and across Canada

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months

Pay: $45.40-$53.42 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
