Working with our multi-disciplinary team in Halifax, you will:

  • Direct, manage, and assist with environmental spill response services in Halifax and surrounding areas
  • Manage every steps of projects while respecting budgets and timetable and the quality of the services execution
  • Develop partnerships with local/regional contractors to provide support services such as: air monitoring; environmental sampling, documentation, and risk assessment; ICS management; SCAT; waste management, etc.
  • Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets - Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards
  • Interpret and implement environmental regulations
  • Support and apply the health, safety and environment managing system requirements
  • Coordinate small- to large-scale projects including maintenance of project schedules and budgets and coordination of project staff.
  • Working closely with small and large project teams and contractor groups to ensure project requirements are met
What you will bring to the team:
  • BS or MS in chemistry, biology, earth sciences, geography, environmental engineering, or environmental sciences
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in spill response, management, assessment, and cleanup preferred
  • Experienced in environmental assessment/sampling and air monitoring
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude
  • Ability to present technical information, both written and orally, in a concise and professional manner
  • Strong understanding of Nova Scotia Regulations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials is a must
  • Positive attitude, very strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time (mostly local, some regional)
  • Willingness to respond to call outs during non-routine working hours
  • Self-starter, flexible team player, willing/able to work on a wide variety of tasks
  • Current OHSA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, ICS certification preferred
  • Must reside in Halifax or surrounding area
