Job Description

Top Hat is seeking an experienced project manager to coordinate the publication of custom textbooks, dynamic courseware, and lab manuals authored by college professors. This individual should be able to meet demanding deadlines and handle multiple projects at one time.

You Will:

  • Coordinate custom publications, educate, guide, and support authors through the production process from concept to completion
  • Specialize in supporting custom Individual Authors as their primary instructional designer
  • Run onboarding sessions for custom authors who may also require training as part of their journey with you
  • Manage a verification process that often requires close collaboration with the content sales team to navigate successfully
  • Manage your portfolio of authors and ensure they are completing their projects, both print and digital, in a timely manner and producing high-quality products
  • Monitor the quality of the work that the custom author is producing throughout your project management sessions and flag any issues that would prevent the book from being published
  • Work cross functionally with other departments within the company as well as external vendors
  • Work with our content team and legal team to ensure all legal requirements have been fulfilled (e.g. release of images, complex copyright questions, the use of embedding HTML blocks)
  • Audit opportunities, perform course administration, keep Salesforce records up to date, and complete general admin duties between sessions
  • Make sure new pricing is finalized, applied to the course, and accurate before students enroll
  • Review current processes, make improvements as needed, and participate in the creation of new processes as business needs arise
You are:
  • Someone with 2-3 years of project management experience, familiar with managing concurrent tasks or projects while keeping them on track
  • Passionate about customer service and delivering a great experience to our professors and students
  • A very strong oral and written communicator, copy editing or proofreading experience is an asset
  • A quick learner, self-starter, detail-oriented, and have an energetic attitude
  • Collaborative, you thrive working cross functionally with others
  • Have existing experience in higher education, publishing, or instructional design
  • An efficient planner with superb time management and organization skills
  • Highly adaptable - change doesn't faze you!
