Position Overview
We are currently seeking a
Project Manager / Civil Engineer
with a strong background in
land development and municipal engineering
. This individual will lead the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects, working closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, and municipal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure renewal, subdivision servicing, site grading, sewer and watermain design, and stormwater management.
Provide leadership and oversight to project teams including engineers, EITs, and technologists.
Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, municipalities, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
Review and approve technical drawings, reports, and designs.
Perform site inspections to monitor progress and ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
Analyze survey data, blueprints, and topographic/geologic information for project planning.
Evaluate the environmental and sustainability impact of proposed projects.
Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and documentation.
Coordinate tendering and bidding processes for public and private sector clients.
Ensure compliance with all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
Provide mentorship to junior staff and support their technical development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or registered EIT close to obtaining licensure.
CETs with 10+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal or land development engineering.
Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering practices, infrastructure design, and land development processes.
Proven leadership and project management abilities.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D an asset).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid Ontario Class G driver's license.
