Position Summary:

The Project Leader in New Materials Excellence Program within the Manufacturing Technology (Mtech) Department is responsible for delivering projects on time and on budget, in accordance with Sanofi VIA Project & Program Management principles. They will develop the strategy, project plan and lead activities to define and implement technical solutions to support commercial manufacturing processes. Projects in scope focus on bulk manufacturing process improvements and material (seed, media, raw, critical and contact materials) replacements, improvements and changes in Sanofi\xe2\x80\x99s Toronto site vaccine manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and lead activities to successfully execute implement projects within the New Materials and Bulk Excellence Program while ensuring business continuity for commercial manufacturing.

Lead the design and implementation of new critical materials (raw materials, contact material sand primary packaging), technical solutions and process technologies within project scope.

Lead the design, development and implementation of changes/improvements to commercial bulk manufacturing processes.

Develop and manages overall project plans, project execution, risks and mitigation.

Create strategy plans for validation, qualification, performance testing and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

Accountable for managing developing and managing change control for new materials or process implementations.

Ensure alignment of scope, cost and schedule relative to their area of responsibility and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

Lead project teams, working groups, interacts with cross functional teams: Production, Quality Operations, Technical Services, RA, R&D or other local or global functions, as needed.

Identify opportunities for improving process efficiency, productivity, and throughput and reducing waste and costs.

Design and manages the execution of process improvement initiatives.

Implement good project management practices with an end-to-end mindset, in alignment with Sanofi VIA Project & Program Management practices.

Contribute to maintaining the level of compliance with all cGMP regulatory standards and comply with all sanofi pasteur procedures and policies related to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment.

Assist with regulatory submissions (regulatory submission review).

Interface with other MTech Platforms, Production, PMO, Technical Services, QO, RA and R&D (when required for support).

Fast paced environment, linked projects and competing priorities (e.g. coordination of project and manufacturing activities/resources).

Multi- scientific environment (Biology, Biotechnology Engineering, Chemistry, Testing, Mathematics).

Key dimensions:

No direct report \xe2\x80\x93Provide guidance to others on a routine basis (1 or more technologists + Co-op students, or contingents workers)

Key indicators: Assure timely execution of projects within budget. Take accountability for technical accuracy.

Freedom to act: Make strategic and critical decision to deliver project within timeline and budget. Cross functional role.

Accountable for multiple products/processes within platform.

Global travel may be required

Key Requirements:

BSc (Science/Engineering) with 8 years related experience or MSc (Science/Engineering) with 5 years related experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

Candidates should demonstrate scientific knowledge and technical writing ability and posses a familiarity with Regulatory Requirements.

Project leadership (PL) or management (PM) experience and/or qualifications are recommended.

Successful applicants will be team players who have demonstrated strong organization, verbal, and written communication skills together with innovative thinking and a customer focus.
