Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position will require some physical presence at the NRC work location identified, however, the option of a hybrid work arrangement (a combination of working onsite and offsite), may be possible.

Your Challenge

We are looking for a Project Leader / Technical Advisor, Client and Project Portfolio Management to support our Knowledge, Information and Technology Services Branch. The Project Leader / Technical Advisor, Client and Project Portfolio Management would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

The incumbent will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver IT enabling projects of various sizes to the satisfaction of clients from NRC Research Centres and Branches. These projects generally involve the collaboration of internal and external organizations.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

University degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.

Candidates who possess a combination of different degree, relevant training and experience could also be considered.

Designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) would be considered an asset.

Experience
  • Experience in delivering IM/IT enabling projects to the satisfaction of clients.
  • Recent* and significant** experience in managing IM/IT enabling projects involving multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Recent* experience in managing IM/IT projects involving internal and external organizations.
  • Recent* and significant** experience leading project teams and engaging and communicating effectively with projects\' sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Recent is defined as experience normally acquired within the last five (5) years.
** Significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.

Assessment Criteria

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

Technical Competencies
  • Ability to provide IT technical advice on the methods and tools available and commonly used to provide solutions to clients.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following IT disciplines: Security, Architecture, Software Development, Networking, End User Devices, Telecommunications.
  • Knowledge of structured project management theories and practices applied in information technology.
Behavioural Competencies
  • Management services - Communication (Level 3)
  • Management services - Teamwork (Level 3)
  • Management services - Conceptual and analytical ability (Level 3)
  • Management services - Results orientation (Level 3)
  • Management services - Client focus (Level 3)
Competency Profile(s)

For this position, the NRC will evaluate candidates using the following competency profile:

Relocation

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC\'s directives.

Compensation

From $89,548 to $112,660 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.

An incumbent occupying a position within the CS Group is currently entitled to receive a terminable allowance of $212 per month.
