Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $38.13/Hr. - CAD $54.82/Hr. Job Summary:
Come work as a Project Leader, Richmond Project Office with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives, the Project Leader, Richmond Project Management Office, provides guidance to the project planning team for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) by ensuring that clinical and technical equipment requirements are identified, and the procurement process milestones are achieved on schedule.
As a Project Leader, Richmond Project Office with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
  • Contribute to the equipment specification process by providing technical guidance to the project planning teams in the development of equipment requirements, specifications and design suitability for various project initiatives.
  • Lead the equipment procurement process from purchase order initiation through delivery, commissioning, and installation. Works with project teams to ensure deliveries are aligned with project schedules.
  • Oversee the equipment delivery schedule; communicates with project partners to ensure that target dates are met, and escalates risks and issues as needed.
  • Work with project team members to ensure site conditions are appropriate for equipment deliveries; communicates site access and requirements to vendors; arranges access to loading dock, elevators, and storage areas with site staff as required.
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure commissioning activities are completed; documents and notifies of any issues or deficiencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring the proper documentation of all procurement-related equipment information in the project equipment list and equipment tracker.
  • Lead the invoicing process by obtaining invoices from vendors and communicating approval status to the relevant teams, tracks invoice status within the equipment list.
  • Liaise with external equipment suppliers to discuss pricing, change orders, contract terms and conditions; identifies related technical issues and works with the supplier to resolve the issues.
  • Develop and maintain equipment technical data sheets, which provide information about the performance requirements for the various items of equipment.
  • Participate in the development and application of appropriate evaluation criteria and financial analysis as part of the evaluation of proposals; provides guidance and recommendations to the project team for best procurement practices based on knowledge and expertise of equipment-related procurement processes.
  • Participate in the equipment evaluation process to support the selection of equipment by reviewing equipment against user group requests, specifications and project requirements.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of medical equipment, clinical products and technological advances by reviewing literature, attending product forms and networking with suppliers and vendors.
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately reports unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s in health services administration, Business Administration or relevant healthcare discipline.

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years\xe2\x80\x99 recent, related experience with medical equipment and related procurement processes in a healthcare environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes in a healthcare environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health care delivery systems as they relate to medical equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and evaluation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in collaboration/consultation with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and provide leadership to others.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment including related software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
