Project Engineer / Project Manager



Duties include but are not limited to:



As a key part of our land development team, you will help bring Alberta's communities to life by:

Providing engineering support for Area Structure Plans, Neighbourhood Structure Plans, and subdivision plans;

Preparing and coordinating technical letters, presentations, memorandums, and reports;

Preparing and coordinating conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design drawings and figures for projects, including site grading, stormwater, wastewater (sanitary), water network, and hard surface improvements, using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Suite, and / or Bluebeam software;

Computing stormwater, sanitary, water network, and earthworks design;

Reviewing engineering and other technical documents;

Navigating regulatory and municipal approval processes;

Preparing construction cost estimates and tender packages including quantity take-offs and tender specifications;

Completing levy analysis and calculations for major stormwater, sanitary, water, and roadway infrastructure;

Supervising and / or supporting construction field operations including drawing and specification implementation, project monitoring, site survey layout, and site inspections;

Mentoring and supervising junior staff;

Coordinating and communicating with internal project team and sub-consultants;

Liaise with clients, municipal approving authorities, inspectors, franchise utility personnel, contractors, and other project stakeholders;

Leading client, site, and internal meetings, both in-person and virtually;

Preparing, maintaining, and reporting of project plans, schedules, and budgets;

Administering contracts;

Executing and delivering projects in accordance with Select's standards and industry best practice.

Candidates should highlight their aptitude with the following skills and experience:

3+ years of relevant land development project engineering experience is preferred;

A bachelor's degree or diploma in civil engineering / technology or related experience in a land development related field;

A working ability in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe, and Bluebeam;

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;

Organized with a strong attention to detail;

Good time management skills with ability to multi-task;

Able to work independently and within a team environment;

Good verbal and written communication skills;

Strong problem solving skills;

Valid driver's licence and vehicle.
