AECOM's Municipal Roads and Highway Group in our Burnaby office is seeking an experienced Project Engineer/ Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams on planning and design projects for municipal and transportation infrastructure. The successful candidate will bring proven experience in managing complex projects for municipal clients--including roads, active transportation, transit-supportive infrastructure, and utility servicing--and demonstrate strong client and stakeholder management skills within the Lower Mainland.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of municipal clients across Metro Vancouver, leading multiple concurrent projects.
Oversee all phases of projects from initiation through close-out.
Direct and coordinate project teams, ensuring deliverables meet municipal technical standards, schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
Lead communication with municipal staff, elected officials, agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
Review and approve technical work completed by junior and intermediate staff.
Provide full project management oversight, including financial performance, schedule tracking, and scope control.
Support business development, including building relationships with municipal clients, identifying opportunities, and preparing proposals and RFQs.
Implement risk management strategies to minimize exposure to claims.
Mentor and support technical staff development, providing input on staffing, performance, and career growth.
