About Our Opportunity
As the Project Engineer, you will plan, design, implement, and administrate a wide variety of construction projects. You will be implementing planned infrastructure (facilities, sites, roads, bridges, trails, buildings, etc) projects within provincial parks. The work you do will help to further develop and support recreation throughout the Nova Scotia Provincial Parks system.
Primary Accountabilities
You are responsible for the planning, design, implementation, coordination, evaluation, assessment, and administration of a wide variety of new construction, repair, upgrades, and improvement projects within the Nova Scotia Provincial Parks System. Responsibilities include the development, preparation, administration, and coordination of tender documents, cost estimates and specification writing. You are responsible for ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with all national and provincial codes and regulations, adheres to procurement policies and process, accessibility standards as well as all occupational health and safety codes and regulations. The incumbent is accountable for the successful delivery of projects within pre-established budget parameters.
Your work in this role will directly impact program delivery and ensure high quality recreational experiences are provided to residents and tourists through effective infrastructure design, development, and implementation throughout the provincial parks system.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering institution is required. You must be (or meet the requirements to be) actively registered as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Full Member (P.Eng) with Engineers Nova Scotia (ENS).
Currently Licensed to Practice as determined by Engineers of Nova Scotia (ENS) is considered an asset.
