Position Summary

The Pan-Canadian Genome Library (PCGL) is a CIHR-funded 15M$ initiative designed to establish a collaborative framework for the management and sharing of human genomic data. Hosted and managed at University Health Network (UHN), the PCGL project aims to establish a ground-breaking platform that brings together experts from 6 Canadian provinces and includes Early Career Researchers and professionals with strong ties to Indigenous and other underrepresented communities.

The incumbent will provide strategic leadership, governance, and execution of the PCGL project, to oversee the overall progress, as well as integrate Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles. The individual will also lead the Project and Data Coordination Working Group (WG1).

Reporting to the Director of C3G, who serves as both the scientific lead for PCGL and the Chair of the Executive Committee, the Project Director will operate as an integral part of the Executive Committee and will liaise closely with the Governance Board, International Advisory Board (IAB), Indigenous Genetics Circle (IGC), and Knowledge Users Committee. This role is critical for harmonizing the activities across the six diverse Working Groups (WGs).

Duties

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for PCGL, aligned with the priorities outlined by the executive and scientific committees.
  • Provide senior-level guidance and oversight across the six Working Groups (WGs), ensuring alignment with the project\xe2\x80\x99s overarching objectives and strategies.
Project Management and Coordination
  • Manage and lead all project management aspects, including: timelines, budgets, and scope, communication across the PGCL, stakeholder management, risk management etc to ensure that milestones and objectives are achieved as planned and ensure alignment with PGCL objectives.
  • Ensure the rigorous integration of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles across all project dimensions.
  • Act as the senior liaison for the project with external stakeholders, including funding bodies, regulatory organizations, and strategic partners
  • Coordinate communication efforts across the PCGL, including the organization of a bi-annual PCGL conference.
Reporting and Compliance
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess project performance with respect to all objectives and agreements.
  • Oversee internal audits and ensure the project is compliant with all contractual and legal obligations.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics or Administration, technology, Science, Business, or related filed required. Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or related filed preferred
  • PMP designation or equivalent required
  • Minimum three years\' experience in health care sector; change management experience preferred
  • Project planning, management and implementation experience required, particularly as it relates to the social determinants of health; certification in Project Management preferred
  • Experience with workflow, process analysis, and measurement of project performance
  • Strong team leadership skills, including ability to inspire and build confidence in others, resolve conflict and creatively solve problems
  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression principles and practices
  • Effective communicator with strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Ontario and Toronto health care and social services systems and public health an asset
