Status of Position:
Full-time Special Project - 1 year (35 hours)
Salary Scale:
$55,282 to $97,963

NATURE OF THE WORK

THE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER IN CRISIS PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION WILL:

Contribute to the implementation and periodic updates of the school board's plan related to Crisis Prevention and Intervention.
Become familiar with the Behavior Management Systems (BMS) program and framework and support its implementation across the school board.
Analyze the needs of the school community with respect to crisis prevention and intervention.
Identify and mobilize internal and external resources to support school teams and staff in managing and responding to high-risk behaviors.
Develop and implement action plans in collaboration with school teams and school board personnel.
Provide strategic recommendations to management regarding effective crisis prevention and response practices.
Plan and facilitate awareness sessions, informational meetings, and professional development opportunities for school staff on crisis prevention and intervention strategies.
Act as a key liaison with partner organizations, to ensure alignment and collaboration across sectors.
Represent the school board on external committees and initiatives related to crisis management and prevention.
Coordinate and lead meetings with professionals and specialists involved in the implementation of crisis intervention protocols and practices.
Evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing strategies and activities related to crisis prevention and intervention.
Produce detailed reports and recommendations to support the continuous improvement of the project's implementation and impact.
Support specific dossiers and initiatives as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialty
A mastery of the English language and the ability to function effectively in French;
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience;
Relevant experience working with vulnerable students in an inclusive or more specialized environment.
Experience working in a special education setting in an elementary and/or secondary school;
Good knowledge of technology to promote the programs, activities and services offered;
Studies in the field of Special Education;
Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training
