Job Description

The Crisis Centre for Northern BC is seeking a dynamic and community?focused Community Education Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in strengthening community awareness, delivering high?quality educational workshops, supporting prevention initiatives, and enhancing engagement across Northern BC.

About the Role:



As the Community Education Coordinator, you will design, deliver, and facilitate workshops and training sessions related to mental health, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and community wellbeing. This role also leads social media and outreach efforts, supports grant writing and applications, and ensures effective scheduling and administrative coordination for education programs.

You will work closely with the Executive Director and community partners to expand mental health literacy and foster strong regional relationships.

Key Responsibilities:



Workshops & Facilitation

Develop, schedule, and facilitate educational workshops and community presentations. Tailor content to diverse audiences including schools, agencies, and community groups. Maintain up?to?date knowledge of best practices in crisis intervention and mental health education.
Community Engagement

Build and strengthen relationships with community partners across Prince George and surrounding regions. Represent the Crisis Centre at community events, health fairs, and outreach activities. Coordinate and participate in public awareness campaigns.
Social Media & Communications

Manage the Centre's social media presence and content calendar. Develop posts, graphics, and educational materials that align with organizational goals. Track engagement metrics and adapt strategies to increase visibility.
Grant Applications & Funding Support

Support the development of grant proposals and funding applications. Compile program statistics, outcome data, and community impact information as required. Assist with reporting to funders and supporting documentation.
Training, Scheduling & Administration

Coordinate schedules for staff, volunteers, and community groups. Maintain program records, attendance tracking, and workshop evaluations. Support program administration including email communication, resource management, and report preparation.

Qualifications & Skills:



Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or combination of education and experience. Training or experience in facilitation, crisis intervention, mental health, or community education. Strong understanding of crisis intervention principles and suicide prevention best practices. Minimum two years' experience in community engagement, education, or related coordination roles. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office, social media platforms, and general computer literacy. Experience with grant writing or nonprofit program support is considered an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $63,500.00-$69,000.00 per year
