Job Description


Summary In cooperation with the organization, you will be responsible for the project development of large-scale biogas plants. The business development team is responsible for the project cycle from origination to the final investment decision. Nature Energy is the world-leading biogas company, with a strategy to be a frontrunner in Biogas 3.0, where PtX and e-fuels are natural components of our biogas projects. We are looking for a dedicated individual with several years of experience with project development and customer relationship management who also demonstrates great personal drive and interpersonal skills. You must communicate well with colleagues and stakeholders across functions and areas of expertise. We are looking for a person who is driven, structured, and detail-oriented, understands business cases, and enjoys working with complex issues. Project Identification:

  • Examine and prioritize project opportunities
  • Examine and identify ideal locations and partners, including using GIS and mapping tools
  • Support decision-making on project go/no-gate gates

Project Development:
  • Calculate risk, biomass, and key figures together with finance colleagues and other specialists within Nature Energy
  • Identify vital stakeholders such as partners, politicians, trade associations, and other local key stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain professional and long-term relations with stakeholders, including the use of CRM and other tools
  • Key Account responsibility for major cooperation partners such as industrial partners
  • Handling challenges through the whole project development process in cooperation with your colleagues

Job Duties:
Manage and scale the implementation of new technology in support of the business development team, including client relationship management (CRM) software and GIS mapping tools Assist in the development of an existing slate of projects in Quebec and eventually lead own projects to the final investment decision.
  • Support in the gating protocols and processes ensuring new projects meet G0 protocols and all planned projects proceed on time and with all the necessary feedstocks and term sheets to proceed from G1 to G2 and through completion
  • Leverage new and existing relationships to identify key opportunities for new project development, acquisition, and long-term strategic partnerships to yield cost-effective renewable gas resources for our customers
  • Support feedstock acquisition activities with the procurement team to ensure the success of Nature Energy plants, including the collection, labeling and dispatch of samples collected across Minnesota, Wisconsin and beyond
  • Support the continued growth of the company?s strategy for renewable natural gas development
  • Support the finance team and the evaluation of renewable natural gas projects, and procurement opportunities, including new project development, project acquisition, joint ventures, new business segments, and other strategic investment opportunities
  • Work with states and municipalities, regulatory groups, and partners to bring Nature Energy projects to market on time and within budget
  • Lead Nature Energy?s efforts in commercial excellence while conducting continued competitor analysis for various stakeholders
  • Maintain a cadence and understanding of ESG standards and sustainability reports amongst partners and competitors

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, public policy, etc.
  • Experience in project management of large projects with high complexity and stakeholder landscape.
  • Experience working through various agreement types
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including the ability to analyze a wide variety of new business opportunities related to renewable energy and emerging markets
  • Experience of analyzing business issues and presenting findings to decision-makers
  • Highly organized and self-directed individual who can confidently manage many projects simultaneously and work with necessary internal resources to support the team and project deliverables
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across the entire organization (regulatory, legal, finance, engineering, strategic planning, etc.) to execute projects


Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of renewable natural gas and/or organic waste industries.
  • Ability to live the corporate culture, and develop relationships with multiple constituents to deliver on projects
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the preparation of documents and presentations for varied audiences
  • High level of comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


Travel
This position requires annual travel to headquarters in Denmark and to sites in the US (Annually around 5-10 days). This position requires regular travel to farm and other feedstock suppliers, as well as potential project sites, and may require overnight travel within the province of Qu?bec.

Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged periods sitting in a car driving to farm suppliers? sites. Visiting and walking around sites/green fields.

Work Environment Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. This job operates in a professional office environment.
