What you will do:



Together with other members of the Engineering team, develop design proposals for new products and improvements to existing products. Develop products by identifying product opportunities, work closely with the product, sales, and marketing teams to understand gaps and opportunities in the market, and work closely with operations to understand what is possible. Assess market competition by comparing the company's products to competitor's products. Develop designs for new products, adhering to timelines dictated by the business cycle. Manage product development projects from inception and proof of concept through to production Analyze design proposals and assess manufacturing feasibility, calculating time requirements, cost, and maintenance requirements; present and defend conclusions and proposals to peers and managers. Monitor all NPD budgets and cost parameters to ensure all financial targets are met. Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes. Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing. Identify and create SMU opportunities for key accounts and channels. Create margin improvement plans across existing items as well as NPD items. Look for cost savings on existing products. Manage the objectives of the projects and the execution of approved proposals from approval to launch / implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget and within scope. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors. Regular communication regarding project progress; escalate issues that threaten timelines, budget or product / improvement viability. Develop engineering drawings and manage engineering changes; evaluate change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases. Determine equipment and materials needs and assist with sourcing, evaluation, and selection. Design manufacturing tooling and test fixtures as needed. Perform or oversee prototype builds and validation testing. Produce manufacturing documentation and lead process FMEAs Document work instructions and processes, and provide training in Operations management and affected employees when introducing new processes or process changes Document quality specifications and provide training to Operations management and employees. Considers value engineering through the development phase to save costs. Communicate details and message to the marketing team. Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. Responsible for supporting and adhering to company policies and procedures. Occasionally attend and staff trade shows to support sales. Perform other duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?



Post-secondary degree/diploma in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on progressive design engineering experience ideally in archery, hunting, or outdoor pursuits industry or tangible consumer products would be considered an asset. Passion for crossbows and hunting is preferred. Computer skills : Competent in Solidworks and AutoCAD; experience with an enterprise PDM package preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project) Experience working with ERP systems. Experience with project management Knowledge of machining principles; familiar with operation of vertical and horizontal CNC Milling machines. Experience in new product design and product improvement GD&T experience, as well as experience in completing FEAs and FMEAs. Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and work prioritization skills Excellent communication and reporting skills Proven ability to contribute to and work well with cross functional teams. Able to travel to the US.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
