Position Description Reporting to the Project Manager and above, the position is responsible in assisting our Project Manager in organizing our ongoing store construction projects. This task involves reviewing project plans and schedules, participating in design and site meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner. To be successful as a Project Coordinator, you will need to be able to work on tight deadlines, have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. A post secondary degree in a construction related field of study and at least 1-3 years of relevant experience is required for consideration. Duties and Responsibilities Assist project manager in day-to-day activities to ensure projects are delivered on-time including, but not limited to the following: \xc2\xb7 Coordinate with interior designers and Engineers to develop concept drawings and detailed drawings for internal and external approval. \xc2\xb7 Communicate with landlord and city officials as required to ensure projects move forward smoothly. \xc2\xb7 Review and compare quotations from contractors and equipment suppliers. \xc2\xb7 Perform site visits to ensure contractors are on-schedule and constructing to the company\xe2\x80\x99s requirements. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate with contractors to monitor construction schedules and any site issues \xc2\xb7 Review and organize project related invoices for payment approval \xc2\xb7 Other administrative tasks required to successfully execute a new a store project. \xc2\xb7 Apply for the appropriate license and permits to ensure compliance with construction and health and safety regulations \xc2\xb7 Assist the project manager with the construction and set-up of new locations and ensure that they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget The project coordinator may be required to respond to site issues during off-hours, weekends and holidays. Expectation of Successful Candidate \xc2\xb7 Completion of a post secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural or related program. \xc2\xb7 1-3 Years experience of construction experience (commercial / retail preferred) \xc2\xb7 Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical) \xc2\xb7 Valid Ontario class G driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence and own vehicle in good working condition \xc2\xb7 Experience using AutoCAD is an asset \xc2\xb7 Ability to perform site visits on weekends and off-hours as required by the projects \xc2\xb7 Ability to travel within Southern Ontario to perform site visits on off hours or weekends as required \xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills \xc2\xb7 Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team \xc2\xb7 Ability to work on tight deadlines \xc2\xb7 Able to travel to Southern Ontario, Ottawa, Quebec, New Jersey is required \xc2\xb7 Bilingual (Cantonese/Mandarin) is an asset Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year Benefits:
