Job Description

Reporting to SKIP's Scientific Director, the Project Coordinator will be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia in SKIP's Administrative Centre on the Dalhousie Halifax campus. They will work closely with the Associate Scientific Director, Managing Director, other Project Coordinator(s), and broader national network. A key responsibility of this role is to support SKIP's knowledge mobilization efforts by summarizing and critically appraising existing research evidence on children's pain. The Project Coordinator will also play a pivotal role in leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of various projects and initiatives at SKIP (e.g., supporting efforts for widespread adoption of the Pediatric Pain Management health standard [CAN/HSO13200:2023] at diverse hospitals across Canada), as well as general operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Review and synthesise research on paediatric pain management to ensure SKIP's knowledge mobilisation is evidence-based and current.
• Support funding and publication efforts by drafting and editing applications, papers, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
• Provide administrative support for SKIP activities, including scheduling, meeting organization, progress tracking, and record maintenance in line with Dalhousie policies.
• Help raise awareness of quality pain management by preparing and sharing evidence-based resources with professionals, decision-makers, families, and the public.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with researchers, partners, health professionals, and caregivers to inform SKIP's strategies and resources.
• Track SKIP Network activities and gather partner feedback to shape reports for funders and the public, showcasing SKIP's impact.

Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on the Dalhousie campus and remote work from Halifax Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
National and/or international travel, estimated to be approximately
5%-time commitment, may be required. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines and other operational requirements.
Required Qualifications

• Master's or professional degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., science, health, medicine, or equivalent) with expertise in gathering, critically appraising, and synthesizing evidence, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex topics into plain language, and to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated skill in academic writing with a track record of contributing to successful publications and funding applications and with a demonstrated ability to deliver clear, compelling, and accessible presentations to diverse audiences.
• Proven experience leading collaborative projects and building partnerships in a virtual environment.
• Attention to detail with high regard for quality and the ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint, to support document and presentation development, activity tracking, and maintenance of records and information.
• Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and relationship building skills , along with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaboratively.

Assets

• Prior experience in a hospital-setting, pediatrics, implementation science, and/or pain management.
• Prior experience with evaluating projects or programs.
• Proficiency in French, both verbal and written, as SKIP engages with diverse partners and knowledge users across Canada, including Francophone communities.
