About IENL & Study and Stay NL

International Education Newfoundland and Labrador (IENL) is a not-for-profit association that brings together stakeholders from education, immigration, and economic development. IENL functions as a collaborative provincial initiative, aligning public and private post-secondary institutions, K-12 schools, industry partners, and government policy. Our goal is to ensure international education drives population growth and workforce development in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Study and Stay NL is IENL's flagship program, designed to help exceptional international students build career skills, entrepreneurial pathways, and community connections that support transition to life and work in the province.

Position Overview

IENL is seeking a motivated Project Coordinator to support the development of the Study & Stay NL Alumni Impact Storytelling Project. This is a province-wide initiative that highlights the long-term success and community impact of international graduates living and working in Newfoundland & Labrador.

This role is ideal for a final-year student or recent graduate who is highly organized, people-focused, and passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and project coordination. You'll help document the journeys of alumni through interviews, research, and content coordination that will inform a major public-facing report, social media campaign, and stakeholder communications.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

Support day-to-day coordination of project activities from Jan-Jun 2026. Assist with developing surveys, interview guides, consent forms, and outreach lists. Manage scheduling for interviews, photography, and videography sessions. Track timelines, deliverables, and communication with alumni and contractors.

Alumni Outreach & Engagement

Coordinate email outreach, follow-ups, and survey reminders. Conduct light pre-interviews with alumni. Organize logistics for alumni profiles, including media sessions.

Content Support

Assist with interview transcription and story drafting in collaboration with writer(s). Gather assets for photo/video shoots and support version control for media files. Provide input for infographics, social media content, and the Alumni Impact Report layout.

Administrative Tasks

Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and project documentation. Support event preparation for Spring 2026 stakeholder showcases. Coordinate alumni honoraria, permissions, and file organization.

Qualifications

Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Comfort engaging with alumni, community partners, and industry professionals. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently. Attention to detail and interest in storytelling, research, or communications. Experience with Canva, Google Workspace, or basic content management is an asset. Background in communications, business, social sciences, public relations, journalism, or related areas is considered an advantage, but not required.

Why Join Us?

Gain hands-on experience coordinating a provincial storytelling and research project. Build your portfolio with real outcomes: published stories, reports, and campaign content. Work closely with a supportive team committed to international student success. Flexible hours. Contribute to an initiative that celebrates international talent and strengthens NL's workforce.
