Project Controls Manager The Cahill Group is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Controls Manager in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NL. As a Project Controls Manager, you report directly to the Director, Project Management Office, and manage a team of approximately 8-12 direct reports. As a key member of the Project Controls Team, you will play an integral role in ensuring projects are properly adhering to Cahill\xe2\x80\x99s Project Control procedures and projects are provided with a timely and accurate forecast. The Project Controls Manager will provide oversight of project controls functions for the company, including line management of project controls resources. This position will be a permanent position, working Monday to Friday, based out of St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NL.   • Manage the successful implementation of Cahill\xe2\x80\x99s Project Controls systems and software within the company
  • Oversee the Project Controls team to ensure they provide consistent, accurate management/reporting of cost, schedule and resourcing on projects
  • Ensure project and divisional performance is reported to an agreed monthly schedule
  • Support and lead proper project setup during initiation/planning phase on key/strategic projects, ensuring proper cost breakdown structure, progress measurement and reporting systems are in place and manage transition to the Project team.
  • Update, expand, and initiate documentation of operating policies relating to project controls as appropriate and taking lessons learned from past projects into consideration.
  • Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility across all divisions to ensure suitable, fit-for-purpose, procedures exist.
  • Ensure contract/subcontract requirements necessary to effect proper cost control and planning are properly reflected in subcontract agreements.
  • Establish and maintain Cahill\xe2\x80\x99s objective performance measurement system and claiming schemes, tailoring as appropriate to each project or project type.
  • Ensure suitable, accurate and timely change management is enforced across the organization.
What will you bring?
  • A Bachelor of Engineering or Commerce degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in project management or project controls in industrial construction and/or plant operations in progressively responsible positions.
  • Experience in negotiating industrial construction contracts and changes
  • Experience in project planning and project controls, including project execution and estimating.
  • Familiarity with construction contract law principles obtained through work experience, specific training, or a combination of both.
  • Knowledge of the project management cycle.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiar with Oracle Primavera or Microsoft Project Planning software.
  • Ability to travel to project sites when required is considered an asset.
