We currently have a 4 month contract opportunity for a Project Controls Lead. This position is based at a project site near Fort McMurray, AB working on a rotation schedule. The contract opportunity is from February to June, with possibility of extension, depending on client requirements.

In this role, you will prepare billings and monitor the work-in-process for either a large project or combination of several small projects. You will provide sound advice to the operations team and adhere to proper cost control and coding; as well as provide periodical reporting on earned vs. burned hours, workforce efficiencies, and cost/schedule forecasting.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of invoices and progress billing
  • Calculate & report on earned values, workforce efficiencies, schedule performance, and cost performance
  • Cost and schedule forecasting
  • Understand and produce S-curves as required
  • Collection/Receivable calls (both internal and external clients)
  • Follow up on customer billing inquiries
  • Identify any profitability concerns and raise them accordingly
  • Follow up with Project Managers regarding outstanding PO\'s and tools
  • Ensure job cost tables are complete and maintained in system including set-up and mark-up
  • Review of Payroll and A/P Coding
  • Manage onsite Access database
  • Client Cost Reporting (daily/weekly)
  • Other duties as assigned by your direct Supervisor

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Engineering, Accounting or Business degree, and/or equivalent accounting experience and knowledge
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 5 years Industrial construction experience, oilfield or related industry
  • 5 years experience in an Accounting or Cost Controls position providing support to industrial projects
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Experienced with contract management / accounting / JD Edwards
  • Exposure to Primavera is an asset
  • Ability to read and comprehend applicable financial statements and reports
  • Ability to understand & interpret Gantt charts
  • Strong organization skills; able to manage own time and work within required deadlines
