We conduct Labour Market Research to provide insights for our partners into workforce availability. We deliver employer supports and facilitate career placement opportunities to help employers reduce the risk of hiring and allow biotechnology workers access to unique opportunities in their field. We provide job search and candidate search tools to connect employers with talent, and we provide professional development opportunities for workers to develop the skills they need to support Canada's bio-economy. We are looking for a curious self-starter to provide administrative support for our Intake and Research teams. This role provides the opportunity to understand the impact of BioTalent Canada's work in the bio-economy with the future potential to fulfill a career in project management. This is a 1-year contract, with the possibility of permanency if extended.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Project Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of administrative, operational, and project-specific tasks for BioTalent Canada's National Talent Strategy. This position provides essential project support in coordinating meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining organized documentation. A core function of this role includes processing and tracking wage subsidy applications in accordance with internal standards and best practices.
In this role you can expect to:
Assist with general correspondence, minute-taking, and meeting coordination to ensure efficient communication and organization across all projects
Execute the end-to-end processing tasks of applications during designated activity periods for the Employer Supports project
Verify the accuracy of application details, cross-checking supporting documents to meet compliance requirements
Perform accurate entry of applications into all databases and report generating tools as per processing requirements and timelines
Compile and submit reports on wage subsidy application volumes and pipeline status, along with progress updates on other ongoing projects, highlighting key milestones, pending tasks, and risks
Create reports and tracking systems as required to track project activities, including survey participant tracking
Conduct research on relevant topics and present summaries in a format aligned with internal standards and best practices
Support with logistics and preparation for events and research projects to ensure smooth execution
Organize electronic communications and documents in appropriate online folders following organizational guidelines for data storage
Provide clear and professional communication with external and internal parties with a high level of customer service
Take a solutions-oriented approach to identify workflow or project issues and provide recommendations
Participate in cross-training initiatives and complete related duties
Prioritize lead generation efforts alongside the regular requirements of the role
Assist with other project deliverables and teams as required in a dynamic work environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
