Key Responsibilities:



Project Coordination & Execution



Coordinate site preparation and mobilization of equipment, tools, and staff before project commencement. Conduct daily coordination meetings with operations staff and project teams, providing troubleshooting and decision-making support. Organize Pilot Cars for oversized hauls and analyze utilization for efficiency and cost control. Oversee subcontractors, subconsultants, and suppliers, ensuring scope, quality, and timelines are met. Occasionally assume project management responsibilities for special assignments.

Permits, Compliance & Critical Planning



Identify and highlight critical items requiring attention, permits, or special handling, and ensure operations staff are equipped with all necessary permits, including oversize/overweight and environmental compliance. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements across all operations. Analyze and develop transportation plans, including route feasibility studies and regulatory compliance.

Cost Control & Scheduling



Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, and KPIs to ensure projects are delivered within scope and cost. Track and report labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Collaborate with accounting to monitor expenses, evaluate equipment ownership costs, and contribute to budget development and forecasting. Support project bids and quotes by providing cost analysis, risk assessment, and logistical input. Review project plans and specifications, recommending cost-saving measures, logistical improvements, and constructability solutions.

Procurement & Inventory Management



Establish and manage procurement and purchase order systems to ensure transparency and vendor compliance, while maintaining a cost database. Implement and oversee inventory management systems to track equipment and material usage efficiently.

Client & Quality Management



Interface with clients, addressing transportation, logistics, and service concerns. Prepare project submittals, turnover packages, and contract documentation, while recommending recovery plans for schedule or cost risks. Monitor client service quality, conduct reviews for repeat business opportunities, and assist in developing rating/tariff systems.

Team Development & Continuous Improvement



Mentor and support staff, assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by recommending updates to project management tools and operational systems. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in heavy haul transportation and rigging. Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, operations management, transportation, or construction. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment transportation, fleet operations, logistics, and operational best practices. Proficiency with project management methodologies and office software; AutoCAD experience is an asset. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in cost control, budget tracking, and KPI development for operational and project performance. Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety regulations, regulatory compliance, and DOT/heavy haul requirements. Ability to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency. Comfortable coordinating cross-functional teams and engaging with clients to ensure service excellence.

Wage and Benefits
