Job Summary The Project Analyst, Environment is responsible for establishing and improving financial performance and project management controls and systems. The role establishes processes to ensure consistent project management controls and contracts for tracking and reporting, financial and environmental progress, milestones, risks, and challenges. Furthermore, the incumbent is required to perform project analysis and prepare reports upon request for management\xe2\x80\x99s review and to support ongoing training initiatives in order to improve overall project management. Main Responsibilities

  • Support Environment Field Operation and Environment Corporate in environment operation, remedial and capital program planning by gaining and maintaining an understanding of the various activities and ensuring business decisions are aligned with budget expectations
  • Support department in relation to forecasting, project contracting structure, approvals, and invoicing
  • Assist department with project setup and closeout
  • Co-administer ENFOS cloud solution for project management of contaminated sites, environmental capital projects and environment work on capacity projects
  • Monitor projects for contract compliance
  • Ensure all incurred cost is reflected accurately and in a timely fashion on the project and cashflows are updated monthly
  • Participate in project review preparation
  • Monitor and analyze spend to provide an explanation of key project metrics and leading indicators
  • Support in creating business tools and processes for leading indicators to allow for early identification of positive and negative business trends in the delivery of Environment operating and capital program with a focus on cost management
  • Ensure that the financial impact of initial contract and change orders is reflected correctly in ENFOS and other systems
  • Assist Project Managers with the preparation and update of ENFOS or Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) for all active projects and ensure that the current liabilities and budgets reflect contracted and planned amounts
  • Follow up on month-end and quarterly events to ensure they are properly reflected in the respective systems
  • Support Finance in monthly and quarterly close activities as outlined by Corporate Finance and Accounting
  • Support the department with accounts payable issues, auditing, onboarding consultants in Fieldglass and any changes to project management systems
  • Perform project analysis and prepare reports upon request for management review
  • Support project teams in financial analysis for external audit support

Working Conditions The role is performed in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role requires minimal travel (10%) within Canada and the United States (U.S.). Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.

Requirements Experience

  • Project Management
  • Between 3 to 5 years of experience in the Project Management or railroad industry
  • Experience with Accounting, Finance, or the Environment Field

Education/Certification/Designation
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business Technology Management, Finance, or related field

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of project management, data and financial management systems, analysis, and reporting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Power BI, Tableau*
  • Knowledge of SAP and ENFOS*
  • Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)*
    • Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
