Main Responsibilities


The work assignment will involve many aspects of heavy civil construction and/ or asphalt paving operations. During the work term, the candidate will be on the job site located on 2064 Kennedy Road, assisting the Project Team. The candidate may be assigned to other projects in the Greater Toronto Area with prior notice based on business needs Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
  • Track project quantities, costs, and production rate
  • Assist forepersons and superintendents in day to day site operations
  • Assist the project team with planning and scheduling
  • Assist with Quality control activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications



Requirements:
  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (2nd or 3rd year preferred)
  • Ability to work on construction sites while monitoring the crews
  • Mathematical aptitude to understand drawings and obtain measurements
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office with ability to learn estimating software
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and critical thinking skills to recognize and resolve discrepancies
  • Ability to work independently and organize activities to meet deadlines valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to a vehicle and willingness to travel daily as project assignments may change
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights, as determined by demanding construction schedules
