Job Description

Paquin Entertainment Group is seeking a

Project Accountant

to join our finance team.

Your Role



Reporting directly to the Controller, the Project Accountant is responsible for managing financial integrity of transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping for assigned projects vs budget, and maintaining efficient cash flow within the organization. This role requires strong understanding of accounting principles with daily bookkeeping by complying to financial policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Project Financial Management



Maintain, and update project budgets by collaborating with Project managers Monitor project expenses and ensure alignment with budgets ensuring accuracy and integrity of data. Coordinate with team members to review corporate spends and verify supporting documents and apply correct project codes. Generate monthly Spend-To-Date reports by maintaining accuracy in numbers and produce variance analysis reports as needed and present to management.

Bank & Credit card Reconciliations:



Perform monthly reconciliations of bank & credit card accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. Review of corporate recurring charges, splitting between other entities, accurately coding to right class group and GL.

Intercompany Reconciliations:

Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts to ensure accuracy across financial statements.

Vendor Bill & Payments



Match vendor invoices with Purchase order, code bills on workflow management app and send for approvals. Generate weekly AP Aging for Operation team & handle time-sensitive bills, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained before processing. Coordinate with team members to ensure accuracy and input of chargebacks between corporate entities received are properly entered. Process weekly vendor payments and maintain accurate records. Set up vendor payment details through online banking platforms. Administer petty cash funds and per diems.

Fixed Assets



Record and maintain depreciation schedules for the company's fixed assets by complying to company policy.

Reporting



Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities. Assist with audit requirements, internal controls, and compliance.

Month end Closures



Assist in month end closings, ensuring accuracy in receivables, payables, JE, multi-currency allocation, accruals. Generate and present monthly Spend-To-Date reports to Operation and management. Assist in generating ad-hoc reports.

Competencies/Skills Knowledge/Experience/ Behaviours



5+ years of experience of progressive accounting and financial experience in small to medium business environments Skilled in full-cycle accounting, (processing invoices, payments, collections bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. Ability to manage multiple projects, support business growth, and collaborate cross-functionally in fast-paced setting Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting. Strong analytical thinking with a passion for process automation & efficiencies. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience in Bill Pay or Workflow management applications is an asset. Ability to think outside of the box and promote continuous improvement of the processes Understanding of financial regulations, tax compliance, and reconciliation procedures. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and excellent attention to detail with ability to handle confidential financial data. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
