Role Summary:
The
Project Accountant - Invoicing
is responsible for creating accurate and timely invoices based on billable time and materials, with a strong focus on reviewing service reports and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with operations, field staff, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:
Create accurate invoices based on billable items and services by thoroughly reviewing and interpreting service reports.
Monitor and verify the accuracy of sales orders, vendor bills, purchase orders, and service reports across multiple projects; maintain organized digital records and project folders.
Prepare and submit complete invoice packages to Project Managers for review and approval.
Ensure timely delivery of client invoices in accordance with established invoicing schedules.
Reconcile cash receipts against outstanding invoices and investigate discrepancies.
Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve customer invoice issues promptly and efficiently.
Identify and resolve unbilled items or discrepancies within the billing period.
Analyze gross margin reports by revenue type and customer; prepare monthly revenue accrual adjustments.
Reconcile equipment movements using shipping/receiving logs, service reports, and NetSuite ERP data.
Qualifications and Skills:
Detail-oriented and accurate with a strong drive to learn and accomplish goals.
3-5 years of experience generating invoices based on billable work (time and materials billing) in the construction or related industry.
Solid background in project accounting and cost accounting within a collaborative finance team.
Diploma or certificate in accounting or a related field.
Proficient in NetSuite or other complex ERP systems.
Advanced Excel skills with speed and precision.
Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities; effective communicator across departments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work well within accounting teams and cross-functional company groups.
Proactive problem solver with initiative and confidence.
Comfortable engaging with Project Managers, Sales Representatives, and Field Technicians to resolve issues.
Quick learner, adaptable, and capable of working independently.
Other Stuff:
The workweek is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. We have a hybrid model for working in our Annacis Island head office and working from home. Initially the position is located all workdays in the office during probation period.
