Get hands on experience and a behind-the-scenes look at some of our event attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats!

The CNE fair is a cherished tradition, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. Be a part of this summer tradition and help us inspire Canadians and create memories.

Overview:
Reporting to the Program Director, the Programs Assistant role will be to assist the Programs team with contracts, work orders, summer staffing, and supervision of staff during the fair. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide administrative support
  • Provide exhibit development support, interpretation and technical expertise
  • Be a strong leader and supervisor for 18-day fair staff
  • Contribute to all aspects of the programming and work collaboratively with all departments
  • Contribute to programming areas which may involve technological installations, competitions, robotics, art installations, children\xe2\x80\x99s activities, and other duties related to these events.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
  • Proven organization and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Education and/or experience in a field related to museum studies program/ event management would be considered an asset
  • Some experience with exhibition development and execution
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience with exhibition planning
  • Experience using a wide variety of technology both android and iOS.
  • Experience with children would be considered an asset
  • A valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license would be considered an asset
  • Full availability during CNE event required
  • Flexibility to work days or evenings during the event, as required

History of the CNE:
The Canadian National Exhibition Association (CNEA) is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1879 for the purpose of fostering the development of agriculture, industry and the arts. The CNEA has a strong and long history of planning and executing the 18-day Canadian National Exhibition (CNE).
