The House of Commons Digital Services and Real Property Service Area is currently looking to staff the positions of Programmer
(ServiceNow) and Analyst/Programmer (ServiceNow) for Corporate Systems Product Line. The Programmer is responsible for the analysis, design, programming, implementation, documentation, support and administration
of computer applications and databases in accordance with industry trends and House of Commons\' IT strategy and direction. The
Programmer is responsible for developing applications and/or mitigating/resolving incidents, application development and/or
incident mitigation projects. The Analyst/Programmer (AP) provides technical leadership to projects. The AP must understand the architecture, validate the
feasibility of the solution based on the defined architecture, ensure that the solution is compliant with the House of Commons
Enterprise Architecture standards, analyse the requirements, design features, develop and implement the solution, prepare or
review test plan and maintain and support products. The AP defines and documents solutions on a variety of projects, its
components and inter-relationships, recommending targeted research and evaluation of technologies. The current environment provides a sense of collaboration and support for a skilled individual to join the team. Within this role you

What you need Successful completion of post-secondary education from a recognized institution in a related field Education such as Computer Science or Information Technology OR an acceptable combination of education,
training and relevant experience.

  • Experience in the workplace in the field of Information Technology (For the Programmer position a
work term, co-op, or internship could also be considered as equivalent experience);
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as VB.net, and SQL;
Experience Professional hands-on experience with Object Oriented Programming languages and Design Patterns
(i.e. C#, VB.NET, Java or equivalent programming languages);
  • Experience with the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow (JavaScript, XML, HTML, Web
Services, CSS, LDAP, OAuth 2.0, REST, SQL) and working with SaaS technologies. Other ServiceNow experience. Outcome
