About the Role:
We are seeking (13) service-oriented individuals to join our team as Program and Fitness Staff, reporting to the Wellness and Program Supervisor.
In this role, you will be responsible for the implemtntation and delivery of registered and drop-in recreation programming, as well as Fitness Centre support at the Prdye Aquatic & Wellness Centre (Pryde AWC). Based on your qualifications and interests, you may support either the Fitness/Wellness or Dryland/Recreation program areas, contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons.
Responsibilities:
Deliver and support registered and drop-in recreation programs, fitness classes, and/or special events, ensuring alignment with program plans and guidelines.
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and friendly environment for patrons in the Fitness Centre, Studio, and recreation spaces.
Monitor and assist patrons in the Fitness Centre, respond to inquiries, and provide orientations and tours as needed.
Fitness Staff will oversee drop-in fitness classes, including setup, registration, and customer service during sessions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and program spaces, performing light housekeeping duties as required.
Take attendance, maintain daily logs, and compile participation statistics and reports related to program areas.
Program Staff will act as a day-of contact for birthday parties and other recreation programs, ensuring smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.
Promote and adhere to corporate health and safety policies, provide minor first aid, and complete accident/injury reports.
Guide patrons throughout the facility and perform equipment checks to support safe and efficient operations.
Participate in job-specific and corporate training opportunities, staying current with best practices and trends in recreation and fitness programming.

Education and Training:
High School diploma or GED required.
Post-secondary diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion, Recreation and Leisure Studies, or a related field is preferred.
Current Standard First Aid Certification is required.
HIGH FIVE Certification (Principles of Healthy Childhood Development) is preferred.
CanFitPro Personal Training Certification or equivalent, and/or certification in fitness instruction, is considered an asset.
A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
Experience and Knowledge:
Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months' experience instructing/leading programming, or equivalent.
One (1) years' experience in recreation program delicery within a municipal setting, is considered an asset.
Previous experience in a multi-use recreation facility or high-paced customer service setting, is considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience developing and instructing recreational programming, is considered an asset.
Wage:
$23.94 to $27.21 per hour(depending on experience and qualifications)
