The Program support worker may work with Toddlers and Preschool age children to provide programming based on How Does Learning Happen in the Our Kids Count Early Learning Centre. They may also support programs at our Westfort and Windsor Street site in Child Care programs. There will be an opportunity for a variety of learning with this role in different positions.
Duties and Responsibilities
to demonstrate respect for the diversity of individuals
to ensure that the playroom is safe, clean and inviting.
to complete observation of children and share information with families to ensure developmentally appropriate activities are planned and share the child experiences with families
to be able to document learning through pictures and share the learning process with families.
to model appropriate communication skills to help develop positive relationships with parents, children, staff, and the community.
to build relationships with children and guide behaviour toward the goal of self-discipline using positive guidance techniques.
get down to children's level and actively participate in activities that children are doing.
to provide parents with information needed to support them in their parenting role, i.e., articles, books, referrals.
to be aware of and attend professional development opportunities that will enhance their learning.
to complete all required forms and ensure all information is forwarded to the appropriate place.
to complete tracking sheets, feedback forms and all related documentation
to support in other programs like Early on, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Admin support

Qualifications
Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario.
Minimum 1 year of recent and relevant work experience in the Child Care sector
Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (with Infant and Child CPR)
Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Child Care and Early Years Act and How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy Document
Must be flexible and reliable to take on call shifts to cover illness etc.
Working Conditions

? Must have proof of 2 million Vehicle insurance liability
? Clean Drivers abstract
? Asset- Personal Vehicle so you can travel between different sites if needed
? Up-to-Date Immunization Record
