Program Support And Community Engagement Liaison Officer

Job Description

Reporting to the degree program Chair, this position is responsible for comprehensive support to the Chair, faculty, and students in the IGD degree program. This role will coordinate and monitor a broad range of administrative and logistical support services within the program. The Program Support Officer will work closely with faculty, students, and staff to support the coordination of learning opportunities and will participate as part of the degree team in the department. This role will also connect with First Nations, communities, and other organizations to coordinate a broad range of activities. This position is responsible for coordinating multiple projects and reports, communicating with various areas of the University and is the front line of contact for current, prospective, and past degree students seeking information regarding the program, awards, information on degree policies and procedures. This position requires a high level of professionalism, independence, initiative, and ability to coordinate activities with other members at Yukon University.

Job Requirements:

  • A Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration or Business Administration is preferred, with related administrative experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an administrative or coordination position
  • Desire to deliver a high level of support to both faculty and students to maximize learning opportunities
  • Experience working in a degree program with knowledge of accreditation requirements
  • Strong ability
  • Strong communication skills in writing reports and correspondence
  • Ability to assess situations/needs quickly and act professionally in these situations by assisting or directing students/clients to appropriate resources
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential issues and interact with a high degree of professionalism
  • Experience managing schedules, meetings, and events
  • Experience managing budgets and expenditures
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with desktop publishing, databases, and MS Office suite
