Join our team as a Program Specialist and help support the development, implementation and monitoring of programs related to fire protection services in unincorporated regions of Ontario. This position will be specific to the Northern Fire Protection Program in Northern Ontario.

In this role, you will:
coordinate stakeholder consultation, conduct research and analysis
develop content and support resources, coordinate project communications and risk management planning
coordinate technical support resources
provide expert support to internal and external clients through coaching, mentoring, and guidance
troubleshoot issues, monitor system quality, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
support projects and initiatives in the Northern Fire Protection Program and Field and Advisory Services
Please note:
The position's headquarters is located at 640 Mountdale Ave, Thunder Bay, North Region. The successful candidate will report to the Thunder Bay office, when required.
Upon approval you may work from district offices located in the following districts:
Kenora
Rainy River
Pending the results of the competition, consideration will be given to the successful candidate to allow them to work out of a District Office, based on the successful candidate's current home and operational needs. The work location will be determined based on the location of the successful candidate.

knowledge of legislation and regulations related to firefighting, fire safety, protection, and prevention
understanding of fire protection service delivery and federal, provincial, and municipal roles/functions
knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and programs as they relate to fire protection service delivery

work with officials, maintain effective relationships among staff and program stakeholders, and provide guidance to staff
