The Black Health Education Collaborative (BHEC) is a community of scholars and practitioners committed to improving Black health through education and research. Our mission is to address anti-Black racism and the interlocking systems that impact the health and wellbeing of Black communities across Canada through transforming medical and health education. Job Summary
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Program Specialist develops and implements a community-driven approach to education and research on Black health and anti-Black racism for students, faculty and practitioners (clinical and non-clinical) in medicine, public health and other health disciplines. The Program Specialist is someone with lived experience as a person of African descent who cares deeply about disrupting anti-Black racism and eliminating health inequities experienced by Black communities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver programmes that dismantle anti-Black racism and improve health outcomes for Black communities.
Plan and facilitate workshops, seminars, and conferences (virtual and in-person) to educate partners and community members.
Conduct research to identify trends, needs, and opportunities related to Black health and racial equity.
Prepare funding proposals and manage budgets to ensure sustainable programme operations.
Produce reports and presentations to communicate findings and results to stakeholders, including funders and policymakers.
Build and maintain partnerships with community groups, health professionals, educational institutions, and government agencies.

Please note that this position is based out of Quebec and the successful applicant will work remotely from within Quebec.

Required Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in public health, social sciences, adult education or a related field, with a minimum of three years' experience in program development, community engagement, or research focused on health equity, racial justice, or a closely related area (or an equivalent combination of training and experience)
Demonstrated ability to manage projects, including budgeting and administration.
Ability to contribute to a team environment that actively supports team wellbeing, joy at work, and Black health and wellbeing.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
Fully fluent in French and English.
Ability to be innovative and work independently.
Assets
Master's degree in a relevant field.
