SMI Automation (Canada) Inc.

SMI Automation (Canada) Inc. is seeking an experienced

Program Manager to start as soon as possible. This position is permanent, and full-time hours are required (minimum 40-48 hours per week). Program management responsibilities include delivering every project on time within budget and scope. Program managers should have a background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis. They are skilled at getting the best out of the people and the projects they oversee.

Qualifications

:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related skilled trade.

Proven experience as a Program Manager in the manufacturing sector.

Experience with design software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, UG, CAD CAM or others.

Thorough understanding of Microsoft Project.

Understanding of blueprint reading, general mechanical construction and assembly processes.

Experience with ERP systems.

Basic understanding of engineering materials and applications.

Ability to work independently, meet goals and tight deadlines.

Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong communication skills, both verbal & written, and the demonstrated ability to integrate into a professional setting.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Duties

:

Manage the working relationship with the customer(s) and their expectations. Communicate with customers regularly with status updates of project, timelines and support any project related requests.

Manage assigned customer purchase orders & invoicing, according to customer invoice schedules and payment terms.

Support project's financial reporting and keep management informed on invoicing status and payments.

Monitor overall spend to project budget. Verify and approve vendor purchase orders for invoicing by accounts payable.

Lead & coordinate with other departments to oversee necessary project scheduling, process flow tracking and task assignments, including but not limited to; assigning job numbers & communicating with design team.

Develop internal project tracking and reporting documents, chair weekly launch meetings.

Monitor bill of materials for up-to-date status reports during team meetings.

Ensure vendor deliveries are coordinated according to required timelines, monitoring and managing vendor provided materials & services to meet delivery targets and budget limits.

Support all departments to meet customer objectives and targets according to timeline(s).

Ensure all equipment is properly labelled and identified.

Support and monitor receiving of incoming goods and shipping of details for outsourced work.

Arrange shipping & receiving of equipment and tooling (incoming and outgoing); providing the shipping & receiving department the necessary information & documents as required.

Solve project issues that arise and assess risk to the project progress.

Coordinate and manage run-at-rate validations, capability studies and customer specific validation processes.

Oversee machine installation and commissioning at customer site.

Ensure that the PPAP process (if applicable) is completed, submitted and approved.

Ensure invoices are submitted and follow up on payment(s).

Ability and willingness to travel is required, including travel to the United States and Mexico.
