The
Program Manager - Programs & Curriculum
is responsible for the oversight of multiple child care centres through assessing and evaluating programs, guiding and directing educators in the delivery of emergent programs and providing support and leadership to Supervisors to ensure successful centre management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To undertake regular visits to centres for the purpose of observation, assessment and leadership
To observe/monitor program delivery ensuring emergent and age-appropriate programs for children from 0 - 12 years
To observe/monitor centre environments (indoors and outdoors) ensuring safe, current and effective use of toys and equipment
To observe/monitor curriculum delivery ensuring documentation is current and reflective of all requirements (e.g. DROC, HDLH, etc.)
To observe/monitor educators ensuring professionalism, engagement and positive interactions
To identify potential gaps in program delivery, staff competencies, learning environments, etc.
To provide guidance/leadership to the Supervisors in the successful delivery of programs, staffing needs, parent engagement, school partnerships, financial viability, etc.
To attend/participate in meetings (staff, parent, school) as necessary to support the Supervisor and to maintain a presence in the centre
To review/monitor staff/unit meeting minutes in order to stay current on centre issues
To perform performance reviews on Supervisors in conjunction with other managers
To support the Supervisor in addressing staff performance issues and/or concerns
To support the centre team in ensuring inclusionary practices
The
Program Manager - Home Child Care
is responsible for the investigation and development of licensed home child care as a new component of Schoolhouse Playcare Centres of Durham.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To investigate other licensed home child care agencies in order to gain knowledge of the workings/operations of licensed home child care in Ontario
To research/become familiar with the Child Care Manual for Licensed Home Child Care in order to gain an understanding of the licensing requirements
To research and develop the necessary policies and procedures required to operate licensed home child care
To apply for a license to operate licensed home child care within Schoolhouse Playcare Centres
To create budgets to reflect the financial operations of licensed home child care as a component of Schoolhouse Playcare Centres
To research and establish recommendations on the fee structure for licensed home child care
To research and plan for community outreach for the recruitment of potential home providers
To develop/follow detailed action plans on the ongoing development of licensed home child care within Schoolhouse Playcare Centres (initial plan by March 1, 2019)
To work collaboratively with other agencies in Durham currently developing and/or expanding licensed home child care
To work collaboratively with Durham Region Children's Services in adhering to the Licensed Home Child Care Agency Service Agreement
The
Program Manager - Operations
is responsible for the oversight of multiple child care centres through ensuring ongoing compliance with all administrative and regulatory obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To undertake regular visits to centres for the purpose of observation, assessment and leadership
To observe/monitor program delivery ensuring compliance with the CCEYA, DROC, etc. (e.g. evacuation procedures, attendance records, etc.)
To observe/monitor centre environments (indoors and outdoors) ensuring compliance with fire regulations, health and safety requirements, etc.
To review/monitor centres' records as they pertain to licensing requirements, health and safety requirements, etc.
To review/monitor centres' records as they pertain to financial management
To do regular audits on the centres as they relate to licensing, monitoring compliance, etc.
To ensure the appropriate use of space as it relates to shared space agreements and school partnerships
To monitor/support the Supervisor in managing enrolment changes and accurate reporting of enrolment
To support/provide leadership to the Supervisor in developing marketing plans for the centre
To provide performance reviews on Supervisors in conjunction with other managers
Qualifications for the Program Manager:
ECE degree or diploma and up-to-date registration with CECE
Minimum of 3 years-experience as a child care Supervisor
Experience and/or sound knowledge of the developmental needs of children 0 - 12 years
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, colleagues and external agencies
Demonstrated ability to develop/write plans, procedures, etc.
Strong leadership skills, including ability to effectively manage change
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with initiative
Sound knowledge of CCEYA, DROC, HDLH, ELECT
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Office Center and Microsoft Outlook
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment including the ability to lead a large team
Must have own vehicle
