Position Summary
The
Program Manager
oversees the planning, delivery, and evaluation of multiple Generation Chosen programs across schools, community sites, camp locations, and virtual environments. This individual ensures that programming is high-quality, emotionally safe, logistically smooth, and aligned with GC's mission, values, and strategic goals.
The Program Manager will supervise facilitators, support staff, interns, and volunteers, and will serve as the key point of communication between GC leadership, youth participants, families, partners, and funders.
Key Responsibilities1. Program Planning & Coordination
Develop and manage detailed program plans, schedules, and deliverables for weekly sessions, workshops, camps, and seasonal initiatives.
Coordinate logistics including space bookings, transportation, food, supplies, and reporting requirements.
Ensure all programs adhere to GC's EI-centered, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive frameworks.
2. Staff Supervision & Support
Recruit, train, and supervise facilitators, youth leaders, volunteers, and interns.
Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and team debriefs.
Provide on-site support during program sessions to maintain safety, quality, and consistency.
3. Youth Engagement & Support
Build strong, trusting relationships with youth and families.
Ensure emotional and physical safety of all participants.
Support youth in navigating personal challenges and accessing GC's mental health pathways (Remedy Therapy, Coaches, EI pathway supports).
4. Partnership Management
Liaise with schools, community centres, university partners, referral agencies, and funders.
Coordinate partnerships with Elephant Thoughts, York University, TDSB, corporate supporters, and allied service organizations.
Support collaborative events, showcases, research initiatives, and community gatherings.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Track attendance, participation trends, and youth progress indicators.
Prepare mid-term and final program reports for funders, partners, and internal leadership.
Collect qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate program impact.
Support grant reporting and documentation for compliance.
6. Administrative & Operational Duties
Manage program budgets, purchase requests, reimbursements, and supply inventories.
Ensure staff comply with organizational policies, safety procedures, and accountability standards.
Support onboarding and offboarding processes for program staff.
QualificationsRequired
2-4 years experience in program coordination, youth work, community development, education, social work, or related field.
Experience working with diverse youth, including Black, newcomer, and marginalized communities.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
Ability to lead, support, and supervise a multidisciplinary team.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice, emotional intelligence frameworks, crisis intervention, and anti-oppressive approaches.
Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends during program seasons.
Preferred
Lived experience connected to the communities GC serves.
Experience working in school settings, especially TDSB, or with community-based service providers.
Experience in mental health program delivery or referral pathways.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (asset, not required).
