Job title: Program Manager (Summer student) Organization: Loyan Foundation Pay: $15.50/hour # of hours: 30hours/week for 9 weeks. Start date: June 19th, 2023 We are hiring for a full-time Program Manager who will support with building overseeing engagement of stakeholders as well as ongoing project lead by social researchers to develop the Loyan Foundation Community Based with Research toolkit. This is an opportunity for someone with good research skills, time management and communication skills as well as a desire to help move our Foundation forward in our multicultural community. About the Loyan Foundation : Our organization\'s mandate is to establish, operate and maintain youth education programs aimed at promoting non-violence in Black communities by awarding scholarships, providing education programs as well as establishing a training and counseling center. We believe in reducing exposure to violence by building a more united, safer and stronger East African community. Loyan Foundation was founded in 2009 to serve the many Refugees and new immigrants coming from War Torn Areas of East Africa who were exposed violence here. We are fully self-funding, and a registered Canadian charity serving not only our members in Toronto but across the GTA. Our mission: is to promote and create a more vibrant, healthy, and resilient community committed to addressing issues of violence in the East African community through a wide range of programs . At the Loyan Foundation we believe in reducing exposure to violence by building a more united, safer, and stronger East African community. Through effective outreach, education, and collaboration we empower East African youth and their families to learn how to live healthy and successful lives. : Various tasks as required, and to include: \xe2\x97\x8f Research and reach out to potential stakeholders to support with Loyan Foundation strategic plan. \xe2\x97\x8f Check-in with social researcher to ensure task are completed on time and answer and relay any questions related to accessing research databases as well as the community based research toolkit to the Executive Director. \xe2\x97\x8f Oversee the Loyan Foundation Non-profit sessions as well as support with outreach with the upcoming Loyan foundation events. \xe2\x97\x8f Review and provide edits on the research summary reports. \xe2\x97\x8f Contribute to Loyan Foundation team meetings and sub-team research meetings. What we are looking for: \xe2\x97\x8f Self identifies as a Black youth (ages 18-29). \xe2\x97\x8f Strong research and communications skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task \xe2\x97\x8f Strong time-management skill with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. \xe2\x97\x8f Access to laptop and stable internet. Strong ability to manage a team and hold people accountable. \xe2\x97\x8f Background in social work or experience working or volunteering in the social service sector will be preferred. \xe2\x97\x8f Strong understanding of the social determinants of health Black communities experience \xe2\x97\x8f Able to work online.
