Contract length: Fixed (up to 14 weeks at 30hrs/week)
Remuneration: $17.00/hr Cool Arts Society is a registered charity that is dedicated to providing fine art opportunities to adults with diverse abilities. Our organization is fuelled by our passionate volunteers, some of whom have been with Cool Arts for over 10 years! We are proud to be led by a small but mighty staff as well as a volunteer governance board of directors Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working alongside the lead editor to plan, implement, and manage the publication schedule for our 20th Anniversary Celebration Book
• Meeting with writers, printers and Cool Arts volunteers to discuss the editorial and publication process.
• Proofreading manuscripts to identify any grammatical and spelling errors.
• Researching facts and new features to maintain accuracy.
• Collaborating with various committees and external partners to ensure a smooth publication schedule
• Assist with campaign outreach and direct contact with local business to promote the 20th Anniversary Celebration book
• Assist with the IndieGoGo campaign
• Performing all administrative duties, such as answering the telephone, replying to emails, and setting up meetings.
• Reviewing layouts and designs for publication covers.
• Support the Executive Director with fundraising planning and development as it relates to the publication of the 20th Anniversary

Book

• Understand and adhere to Cool Arts policies and procedures
• Other duties as required

Canada Summer Jobs Program 2023 Qualifications:

• Project coordination skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Works from a team perspective
• Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks required
• Proof of full vaccination against COVID required

This position is a part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program with funding provided by Service Canada. Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protections has been conferred under the Immigration and

Refugee Protection Act

• And legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations (international students on a work/study permit are not eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Program)
