Job Description

Bredin Centre for Career Advancement (Red Deer Office) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Program Manager to support a new innovative initiative. The PathWays2Work Program, is designed to meet the evolving needs of unemployed Albertans, particularly individuals living with disabilities or facing complex barriers to employment.

The Program will use Virtual Reality (VR) technology with individualized supports to create an accessible, employment pathway.

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Manager will oversee the daily operations within the program, including data and information management, financial oversight, marketing strategy development, and reporting requirements. Program Managers at Bredin work collaboratively to ensure the success of all initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage staff development in accordance with Bredin HR policies and procedures.

Develop strategic plans for the implementation and delivery of both programs.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, ensuring a high standard of program integrity and client service.

Comfort with new and emerging technologies and the ability to support staff and clients in using VR equipment.

Understanding of digital accessibility standards and inclusive design to support participants with disabilities.

Lead program teams in developing strategies to meet all contractual outcomes.

Analyze information and data to guide strategic planning and decision-making.

Compile formative and summative reports according to funder and contract guidelines.

Participate in preparing program budgets, financial forecasts, cashflow reports, and amendments.

Identify marketing needs and provide content for promotional materials.

Oversee marketing resources to ensure alignment with funder expectations.

Participate in business development activities, including proposals, partnership identification, and contributing statistical outcome reports.

Lead and/or participate in special projects, event planning, and committees as required.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years' experience managing employment-related programs or contracts and or people management.

CCDP designation is considered an asset.

Strong project management skills, including analysis and improvement of procedures and processes.

Experience with VR, AR, or simulation-based training tools (not necessarily technical development, but familiarity with using immersive tech in learning environments).

Experience coordinating technology-enabled training programs or digital learning platforms

Understanding the resources and support required for individuals experiencing complex barriers to employment, including those with disabilities.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate daily operations across multiple project areas.

Knowledge of career development principles and their application within employment and training programs.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Outlook).

A clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
