The Quebec Parkinson Network (QPN) is a provincial network created and funded by the FRQS since June 2013 and which has been renewed on April 2019. The aim is to contribute to the improvement of the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with Parkinson\xe2\x80\x99s disease.
Position Summary:
Working under the direction of the QPN director and in close collaboration with C-OPN managers, clinicians and researchers on Parkinson\xe2\x80\x99s disease, the Manager for the Quebec Parkinson Network in Qu\xc3\xa9bec (Montr\xc3\xa9al and Quebec city), which is a network, developing multiple infrastructures \xe2\x80\x93 collecting data about patients with Parkinson\xe2\x80\x99s disease: Participants registry, epidemiological and neuropsychological databases, bio bank and imaging database is responsible for establishing a network of contacts and partnerships and collecting a variety of data on Parkinson\xe2\x80\x99s disease in Qu\xc3\xa9bec.

Primary Responsibilities:

The QPN manager is responsible to manage activities related to the network including the following:

  • Participates in the collection of information on resources related to Parkinson\xe2\x80\x99s disease including: clinical services, research projects and useful technical platforms.
  • Accesses requests from Network members and works with patients\xe2\x80\x99 registry, biobank, databases (epidemiological, neuropsychological, bio-bank and imaging) to determine best match.
  • Assesses, analyzes and evaluates the appropriate information to collect and submit to the Scientific and executive committee for validation as well as information received by granting and regulatory agencies (Fonds de la Recherche en Sant\xc3\xa9 du Qu\xc3\xa9bec (FRQS).
  • Creates and writes reports, including content for the FRQS and for QPN website.
  • Establishes and maintains contacts and relationships with a variety of internal and external organizations (including FRQS), Parkinson Society, hospitals/health centres, universities, research institutions, Government ministries and agencies, patient organizations, Parkinson disease federations.
  • Acts as resources person and advisor to QPN members and others and interacts with experts and professionals.
  • Provide advice and guidance to QPN members as it relates to their individual projects to determine participant\xe2\x80\x99s eligibility.
  • Reviews all ethics approval forms to ensure compliance on the use of the QPN databases / including the design of management framework and consent forms
  • Develop and promote standards and practices required for the appropriate use of the QPN infrastructures \xe2\x80\x93 procedures and operating rules (databases and participants registry)
  • Design documents regarding the use of registry and databases (contact forms, monitoring forms, data communication forms).
  • Monitor and assist in recruiting participants for the participants registry
  • Ensure that research teams and research projects comply with QPN regulations (complete all the required documents before and after the research participants enrolment, respect of authorship rules)
  • Organize and attend QPN meetings and conferences (general meetings, executive committee meetings and other special events and conferences)
  • Make presentations during general and executive committee meetings
  • Compile statistics and data for inclusion in reports (data about projects, members, participants, data including in each databases etc.\xe2\x80\xa6)
  • Supervise research assistants in Montreal and Quebec.
  • Communicates to QPN members the latest news on Parkinson\'s disease (results of studies from the collaboration with the QPN and other studies).
  • Develop the visibility of the Network by maintaining and sustaining contacts with the press.
  • Interact with researchers and clinicians of the Network across the province of Quebec to promote latest research projects of QPN members
  • Create and develop collaboration with other networks and institutions
Other Qualifying Skills and/or AbilitiesKnowledge of biomedical and research fields. Demonstrated communication skills in French and English including writing. Ability to interact with experts and other professionals from a variety of government, university, and organizations at all levels.

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor\'s Degree 3 Years Related Experience /

Annual Salary: (MPEX Grade 05) $65,500.00 - $81,870.00 - $98,240.00
