Position Purpose




Infoway requires a Program Manager, that will be responsible for the delivery of Connected Care's projects and program(s) by serving as a business and technical program leader and successfully engaging with stakeholders. The Program Manager, will play a critical role in leading, guiding and supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders in delivering on initiatives by adding leadership, facilitation, stakeholder management capability and capacity to the program.

Patient Summary



Infoway has been partnering with jurisdictions across Canada to facilitate the exchange of Patient Summaries. A patient summary is not a patient's entire health record, but a portion of it. It's comprised of a standardized collection of patient information: the necessary minimum and sufficient data to inform a patient's treatment at a point of care. It may include elements like a patient's medications, allergies and immunizations. Patient Summaries enhance patient safety by ensuring critical information is readily accessible when it's needed most, like an unexpected visit to the emergency room or walk-in clinic.

Health Application Lightweight Protocol (HALO)



Infoway is embarking on a transformative initiative to enhance interoperability in community-based healthcare settings through the Health Application Lightweight Protocol (HALO). HALO is a standardized visual interactive framework that simplifies the integration of web applications with community Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and point-of-care (POC) solutions. This initiative will empower community-based providers with seamless access to a wide range of digital health services, ultimately improving patient care, the provider experience and healthcare delivery.

Major Responsibilities




1.

Strategic Planning and Alignment



Monitor and promote the alignment of program initiatives with Canada Health Infoway's Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap to advance interoperable health systems across provinces and territories. Support the development and implementation of program strategies that drive business growth and innovation (e.g., development of a product strategy).

Supporting Program Evolution



Support the development and maintenance of program roadmaps, including researching market trends and customer needs, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritizing features and improvements, creating timelines and milestones, and monitoring progress to adjust plans as needed. Develop, maintain, and prepare high-quality program materials and presentations to ensure timely, clear, and impactful communication with stakeholders across meetings, reports, and updates. Support the development of change management strategies to support clinical and operational adoption of digital tools. Track and report the status of jurisdictional implementation projects.

Project Management and Implementation



Lead, manage and monitor performance of assigned Connected Care projects to deliver expected outcomes. Leverage program lifecycle management processes and tools to ensure initiatives/projects progress is tracked against delivery on time, within scope and budget, ensuring quality outcomes. Implement effective collaboration processes to assist teams in facilitating project delivery, identifying risks, and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies. Responsible for facilitating project governance, including internal and external steering committees as required. Support the definition of internal key performance indicators and metrics to assess overall program performance.

Education



Undergraduate degree, preferably in healthcare or business-related field. MBA, or other related graduate-level education, preferred. Project Management certification an asset

Qualifications



5+ years of experience in healthcare IT or a related field, with a focus on interoperability and digital health solutions. 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing complex programs, projects and initiatives with multiple stakeholders. 2+ years of experience in program management, delivery and execution, with a demonstrated understanding of how to deliver and implement products from conception to initial pilot and evolution. Proven ability to facilitate discussions, build consensus and drive strategic initiatives forward in a complex environment. Phenomenal written and verbal communications skills. Tactically, excellent preparation and presentation skills to facilitate engagements with business and technical stakeholders, and experience in writing formal briefing notes and explaining and articulating end user requirements. High attention to detail and precision. Proficiency with PowerPoint (a must), Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint. Demonstrated familiarity with applicable Health IT standards (such as HL7, IHE, SNOMED CT, pCLOCD, etc.). Familiarity with concepts such as such as IHE integration profiles, FHIR profiling, implementation guides, terminology artifacts is considered an asset. Proficiency with JIRA is considered an asset. Self-starter: High level of initiative and self-direction displayed. Understanding of the healthcare technology landscape as it relates to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and the Hospital Information System (HIS) industries is an asset. Experience working with or interacting with provincial or territorial government stakeholders, is an asset. Experience supporting clinical change management and adoption activities, including workflow analysis and training, is an asset. Hands on experience with system integrations (e.g., APIs), documentation and implementation guides, is an asset. Some travel may be required.
