Your opportunity:
The Strategic Initiatives group in the Department of Computer Science is responsible for the development and success of the department's large-scale partnerships and long-term initiatives.
One of the newest initiatives in the portfolio is Electric Vehicle Innovations Ontario (EVIO). EVIO is an $8 million government-funded research initiative that aims to leverage expertise in AI and other advanced technologies from eight universities across Ontario, to commercialize, scale and grow Ontario's most innovative EV firms. As part of a highly professional, collaborative and supportive team, the EVIO Program Manager will play a critical role in leading this initiative.
Based at the University of Toronto, the EVIO Program Manager ensures that all EVIO operations run smoothly and successfully. This includes establishing operating and reporting protocols for all research hubs, navigating multi-institutional policies and procedures, and understanding and applying various government and funder requirements. The incumbent also supports the governance structure for EVIO, which includes both a steering committee and technology management committee.
This is a high-impact position that provides the operational infrastructure for innovative research outcomes and requires advanced project management skills, strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, financial acumen, and a proven track record of relationship and stakeholder management across senior academic, government, and industry stakeholders.
This is a term position to March 2028.
