Job Description

Our client is looking for a Senior Program Manager - Cybersecurity. You will be part of and lead all aspects of the Cybersecurity Delivery Team and their efficient delivery of high-priority Cybersecurity projects of various sizes and complexities. Your will be collaborative with Global and Local CISO to define, plan, coordinate and resource the key initiatives for the year (CISO Book-of-Work). Once the CISO Book-of-Work has been established, you will manage the Cybersecurity Delivery Team's delivery of the projects in accordance the Agile Service Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC), to meet agreed time, cost, and quality objectives. Working collaboratively with your team of project managers, contractors, internal IT staff, and third-party vendor partners, you will provide leadership on the security-centric projects within your program. Rounding out your role is the application of project management standards, disciplines, and controls to ensure successful program delivery. This is a hands-on technical program management role.

What you'll do

  • Lead all aspects of the delivery of key Cybersecurity projects to improve the company's security posture:
  • Working collaboratively with the CISO, define the annual Canadian CISO Book-of-Work which involves prioritizing, scoping, planning, budgeting, and deciding upon the key cybersecurity initiatives delivered annually.
  • Define the overall program scope and initiate all projects within the program; provide input into the business case, obtain approval, budget, and resources.
  • Be responsible for and coordinate the successful execution of project deliverables by the project managers to ensure that the program scope is completed on time and on budget.
  • Liaise and be collaborative with global counterparts on joint CISO initiatives that are being implemented across all markets.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate change to the program: scope, objectives, budget, timelines, and resources.
  • Ensure consistent project management methodology is employed for all projects: project structure, approach, deliverables, financial tracking, reporting, communication strategy, vendor management proficiently.
  • Manage and lead all aspects of IT and Cyber Risk regulatory compliance to IT and IT Risk Management domains efficiently.
  • Maintain resource capacity planning. Increase or reduce team membership as required.
  • Drive budget forecast and financial planning, tracking and reporting.
  • Provide regular program reporting updates to CISO, Global Program Leads, Steering committee and partners.
  • Regularly develop and produce security program metrics, status reports and presentations for various partners, including CISO, CIO and Global CISO. Act as the Cybersecurity ambassador establishing relationships with all levels of Business and IT Management
  • Encourage and model creative approaches to problem solving, relationships management, and communications to drive effective results.
  • To be successful, the Cybersecurity Senior Manager needs to maintain strong relationships and communication effectively with a number of both technical and management partners, and navigate the obstacles surrounding the program, its projects and cross-functional players.
What you'll bring
  • A solid background delivering multiple IT projects of various complexity ranging in budget from $50K to $2M and requiring collaboration among IT, business, and change management teams.
  • 8+ years of IT Program Management and/or Project Management (with preferably 1-2 years in Cybersecurity Program/Project Management).
  • Familiarity with concepts of Cybersecurity and Risk Management.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and effective presentation techniques.
  • Ability to embrace agile working environments with focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, fast-paced environment, delivering value, and the ability to adapt to change.
  • In-depth understanding, knowledge and experience with Project Management Methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and apply project management and IT delivery principles while maintaining balanced and appropriate situational flexibility and pragmatism.
  • Extensive experience with project management and productivity tools (MS Project, PowerPoint, Vision, JIRA, SharePoint), best practices and processes.
  • Experience with developing and building compelling business cases and gaining executive approval for complex initiatives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial planning, cost benefit analysis, forecasting, budgeting, tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience with people and organizational change management skills, tools, and techniques Experience with Business Process Analysis' Process Improvement and Re-engineering.
  • Outstanding relationship management skills including Steering Committee, Sponsor, Executive, and Partner management and managing their expectations.
  • Excellent vendor management skills including writing requests for quote, forecasting, negotiating, working with procurement and legal, tracking invoices and financials, and managing vendor delivery.
  • Ability to efficiently manage ambiguity.
  • Strives to resolve project escalations using effective problem solving, communication and relationship building skills. Proficiently know when further escalation is needed.
  • Ability to foresee upcoming issues before they arise and make corrections or advise partners of risks ahead of time.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and empower the team of project managers and technical SMEs on a day-to-day basis.
  • You are positive, forward-thinking, and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
  • University degree in an Information Technology related field is required
  • Project Management certification and solid technical background would be considered assets
