We recognize the land and waters that have inspired our work and offer gratitude to those Indigenous peoples on whose territory we work, live and play.About the roleCanadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Program Management Associate to join our dynamic Medical Laboratory & Stem Cell Services team in our Medical Affairs and Innovation division.The Medical Affairs and Innovation division is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing oversight for the Centre for Innovation, organ and stem cell donation and transplantation, utilization, donor and clinical services, medical microbiology, and epidemiology. The team ensures that Canadian Blood Services' medical and scientific support is provided to the ongoing operations of every aspect of their work.The Program Management Associate is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring and maintaining specific Medical Services programs. The Associate contributes to information gathering, reporting and analysis of related issues and provides advice and support to senior management. The associate works closely with the medical services team and other functional business groups to achieve program objectives in accordance with established cost and time parameters.Formula for success
  • Leveraging your organizational and project management skills, you will coordinate and integrate program activities to ensure seamless execution of assigned work streams.
  • Drawing on your analytical abilities and strategic thinking, you will identify program requirements and develop effective strategies to address key priorities.
  • Utilizing your expertise in performance monitoring, you will track program progress to ensure goals are met, targets are achieved, and established guidelines are followed.
  • Leveraging your interpersonal and communication skills, you will foster strong relationships with stakeholders, address emerging challenges, and provide timely progress updates to ensure program success.
  • Applying your process improvement expertise, you will promote standardized workflows and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • With your data analysis and reporting skills, you will collate and synthesize program data, monitor performance metrics, and address stakeholder concerns through actionable insights.
Desired education and skills
  • Post-secondary education, preferably a university degree or college diploma in a related field. Health professionals with transfusion medicine experience, such as Medical Laboratory Technologists or Registered Nurses, are preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated understanding, experience or educational background in quality management.
  • A minimum of three years relevant experience in various program roles.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgement and understanding of when to seek direction.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret business needs and develop integrated creative solutions as well as the ability to develop accurate and detailed reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.

What you can expect
  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • You may be expected to travel to alternate Canadian Blood Services offices or site locations, including head office in Ottawa at 1800 Alta Vista Drive, for biannual in-person team meetings or as required.
