Part-time (20 hrs/week Administration)

In Office: (15 Hours approx.) Monday & Friday 9:00AM to 1:00PM

On-Site: (5 Hours approx.) Tuesday & Wednesday 4:00PM to 6PM

& Thursdays 7:30AM to 8:30AM RECE hours / coverage as required.

Office and On_Site location may vary week to week depending on program requirements.

Position Overview

The Program Leader (Supervisor), Links2Care School-Age Programs is responsible for the coordination and delivery of Links2Care's School Age program in compliance with Ministry of Education Standards and the Child Care and Early Years Act. This position is based out of the Links2Care EarlyON Child and Family Centre office in Georgetown with on-site supervision of program staff at the Georgetown school locations. Reporting to the Manager, Community Services the Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of school-age programs as delivered by Registered Early Childhood Educators and Educators Assistant staff with the support of students and volunteers. The Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of leadership including employee supervision, performance management, coaching, evaluation and training and development. The Supervisor works collaboratively with others as part of the Links2Care Children's programs team and Agency leadership team. Role and Responsibilities

Implements a children's program philosophy of early learning and care that are aligned with Links2Care's strategic plan, ensuring a child/family centered learning environment.

Coordinates service delivery ensuring program activities operate efficiently within the policies, procedures, standards and guidelines of Links2Care, Quality First, and provincial, regional and municipal regulations and legislation. Ensures compliance with provincial, regional and municipal regulations and guidelines, Ministry of Education requirements and the Child Care and Early Years Act.

Ensures Public Health standards are maintained in the kitchen environment and that safe food handling practices are followed by staff for the preparation, storage and handling of food for program participants.

Provides leadership in the development, execution, monitoring and evaluation of culturally competent, inclusive and developmentally appropriate programming.

Coordinates program registration and enrollment.

Leads marketing initiatives that are appropriate for the program, including attending events, working in collaboration with internal staff for this purpose.

Makes appropriate referrals to other Links2Care programs and/or community support services as needed.

Coordinates School Age programming for program participants, continually monitoring and adjusting service to address clients' changing goals.

Works within the Halton Early Years and Child Care Quality System Framework, delivering key annual outcomes with the school age staff reports

Responds to Serious occurrences and accidents as per Ministry and JHS requirements.

Collects and maintains client and employee information based on program needs and employer requirements in accordance with the Links2Care confidentiality/privacy policy, and PHIPA and PIPEDA legislation.

Establishes and maintains linkages with community partners.

Works collaboratively with all departments of the Agency.

Develops and implements program evaluations and monitors ongoing program performance measures for continuous improvement.

Coordinates effective staff meetings and regular staff recognition initiatives including but not limited to National ECE Day.

Prepares monthly billing information for clients and Accounts Receivable. Prepares and submits fee assistance documentation as required for subsidy approval.

Maintains and provides statistical information on monthly basis for internal reports, HDSB, mid year and final funding reports.

Administers program petty cash and monitors expenses within allocated budget.

Approves employee time sheets, leave of absence requests and enters scheduling information into the payroll system in a timely manner.

Maintains inventory, orders materials, supplies and equipment required for effective program operation, within established program budget and signing authority.

In consultation with the Director, Community Services, plans and coordinates the work of RECEs and EAs including scheduling, supervising, evaluating, coaching, training and team building of staff.

In collaboration with Human Resources, recruits, interviews, selects and trains qualified staff, students and volunteers to carry out program activity safely and efficiently.

Provides supportive listening to clients, staff, volunteers and students providing feedback and support, and addresses issues and behaviours through established problem solving and conflict resolution protocols.

Visit's school classrooms regularly to ensure staff and program compliance.

Provides follow up support to stakeholders as appropriate in a timely manner.

Ensures safe and healthy environments for program participants, staff and other stakeholders.

Ensures employee credential and immunization records are kept up to date and maintained as per Ministry of Education and Child Care and Early Years Act requirements.

Participates in ongoing education and continuous learning opportunities.

Participates in committees with community partners and funders as deemed appropriate by the Director, Community Services.

Participates in the broader Links2Care team by attending general staff/team meetings, community events, fundraising events and marketing of programs.

Other projects as assigned.

The Supervisor, School-Age Programs will work primarily in an office environment with occasional travel in Halton.

This position requires the bending, occasional heavy lifting and moving of items up to 50 lbs and may be physically demanding and requires a significant amount of time standing, squatting, kneeling, sitting or walking in the school. While on site is expected to participate in student activities and must regularly lift or carry materials. Sometimes heavier lifting may be required to help children move in and out of wheelchairs, on and off of play areas etc., may also use mechanical lifts for students and operate related equipment on an occasional basis. Require sufficient vision and hearing to perform related job duties. May have unpleasant aspects of the work environment are: contact with infectious diseases, noise level, dealing with uncooperative, difficult and demanding students

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education with RECE status.

Minimum 2 years' experience in the delivery of children's programming. Preference will be given to those who have delivered childcare services, supervising RECEs and other support staff in a childcare setting.

Current Standard level certification in CPR and First Aid, which must be maintained throughout employment. Working knowledge of community resources and programs available to families in Halton. Knowledge of the programs and services provided by Links2Care is an asset.

Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Year's Act and Halton's Early Years and Child Quality System Framework.

Knowledge of Alayacare software and Microsoft is an asset.

Tact, discretion, honesty and rapport with parents and caregivers.

Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

Completion of a satisfactory CAS, Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen prior to and throughout employment is required. Ensures employee credential and immunization records are kept up to date and maintained as per Ministry of Education and Child Care and Early Years Act requirements.

Must have up to date immunization and record of immunization as required by the Ministry of Education and Child Care and Early Years Act.

Employees who drive on behalf of Links2Care for work related purposes must possess and provide proof of a valid Ontario driver's license and a minimum of $1,000,000 liability insurance on their vehicle.
