You share our values of Respect, Integrity, Diversity, Accountability, and The Public Good, have a deep appreciation of diversity and inclusion, and actively promote and encourage the importance of teams, people, diversity and culture.Primary AccountabilitiesThe Program Lead, Operations, is responsible for leading the coordination, implementation and administration of initiatives intended to improve access to early learning and child care across the province. In this role you will manage and deliver on required outcomes for specific space creation initiatives within your portfolio, including:

  • Administering contractual agreements for approved space creation projects with service providers, ensuring projects are completed within the approved timeframes and budget envelope through ongoing monitoring and analysis of project plans and expenditures, developing risk management and mitigation plans for projects where necessary.
  • Collaborating extensively with internal and external partners to develop awareness of space creation initiatives and opportunities, to inform recommendations and to coordinate required approvals on initiatives and their associated budgets.
  • Communicating vertically and laterally to keep staff informed and engaged, ensuring projects and initiatives contribute to Departmental policy, program and strategic priorities, and ensuring the provision of timely updates and advice.
  • Applying innovative and best practices to problem-solving issues that arise throughout the course of your work, and to making improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures.
  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting of progress to provide appropriate information and advice to decision makers. This includes business analysis, capacity management of direct and indirect program resources, and ensuring progress reports are generated and information is well managed, understandable, accessible and disseminated in a timely way and in appropriate formats.
Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A bachelor\'s degree and five years of related experience.
  • Experience in a client-service environment in project management, program development and administration, including development of policies and procedures, budgets, and risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to conduct data analysis and create reports.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
Assets considered for this position:
  • Working knowledge of programs and services offered by the Early Learning and Child Care Branch, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, and current legislation, regulations, and policies.
