The Role: Program/Team Lead - Hubs
(Full Time | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract | Maternity Leave Backfill)
Trellis Society is seeking a Team Lead to support our After School, Youth Programs Kinder Care and Ready, Set, Go! Preschool programs. The Hubs Lead ensures optimal operation and performance is maintained and in alignment with program priorities as well as portfolio and organizational vision, values, and goals. In collaboration with the program managers the Hubs Lead is responsible for all cross-site scheduling; supervision of relief and float staff; all functions of the Make Shift data base including scheduling, relief staff list management, ensuring program ratios are met for all Hub sites; adherence to licensing across sites; as well as supporting the Administrative Support Worker with Avocado system management, registration and program enrollment as needed.
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week) and requires availability for a 10am-6pm schedule Monday-Friday with flexibility for evening events.
This position is a Maternity Leave coverage with possibility of extension.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Supports with onboarding and supervision of applicable part-time and relief staff throughout Trellis Hubs
Supports managers with the scheduling and shift coverage of childcare programs at all Hubs
Work in collaboration with Program Managers in ensuring individual program needs are met in addition to promoting shared processes, vision and values across all spaces.
In collaboration with Program Managers ensure licensing requirements are met for staffing ratios
Being present in programs to allow for mentorship and coaching to happen in real time, and support when needed
Responsible for program scheduling and auditing in Makeshift across sites
Support the Hubs Admin in Avocado system program registration during high volume times.
Support the Hubs Admin in Survey Prep and Administration and roll up.
Ongoing program orientation, training and development of frontline staff.
Engage and model respectful and appropriate relationships and professional boundaries with children, youth, community and staff team.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the operations of the programs.
Be aware of and assist in implementation of accreditation standards, licensing requirements and health and safety protocols and procedures.
Provide coverage in Hubs programs to meet staffing ratio as required
Knowledge and Skill Expectations:
Required Qualifications:
A degree or diploma in Human Services or Education field with at least 3 years of experience working with children, youth and families
.
Level 3 ECE, already obtained or in the process of application.
Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check
Valid driver's license and access to reliable vehicle
Proven ability to coach and mentor others, provide in the moment feedback and performance support
Core Competencies:
Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, computer literacy and active listening.
Strong relationship building skills and a good understanding of and ability to appropriately apply behavior management skills with individuals and in group settings.

Knowledge of supervision models and staff development practices
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning
Understanding of Trellis organizational mission, strategic priorities, and policies
Reporting Relationship:
This position directly reports to a Trellis Program Manager
