to lead our new initiative, "Connecting Our Peers, Engaging Our Community" -- a program you will help design to support and engage people who use substances in our region. This full-time, term position is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of harm reduction principles, a compassionate approach to facilitation, and a commitment to inclusive, community-based work.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and lead program sessions in collaboration with staff and community partners
Create a comprehensive program guide and resource book tailored to the needs of participants
Foster a welcoming, non-judgmental environment that supports individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs
Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure program goals are being met
Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations and partners
Track participation and contribute to regular program reporting and evaluation
Adapt programming based on participant feedback and evolving community needs
Able to drive and have own vehicle to travel to Colchester, Cumberland and Pictou county to run the program
Word, excel and publisher experience is a bonus.

Required Qualifications
Proven experience facilitating group sessions or community programs
Strong understanding of addiction, substance use, and harm reduction principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
High level of flexibility and adaptability to meet participants where they are
Drivers License and own vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
Lived experience or close personal/professional experience working with people who use substances
Knowledge of local community resources and services
Experience developing educational or informational resources
Background in social work, peer support, health promotion, or a related field (formal education not required)
