ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY



We're hiring a

Program & Events Coordinator

to lead the coordination of two key Chamber initiatives:

Leadership Winnipeg

and

CODE (Commitment to Opportunity, Diversity & Equity),

while also providing support across other Chamber programs and events.

This role involves coordinating timelines, preparing materials, supporting participants and speakers, and ensuring each program session and event runs smoothly. It requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep things on track.

Because the work involves themes of leadership, inclusion, and equity we're looking for someone who communicates thoughtfully, values diverse perspectives, and is confident in applying DEI principles in their day-to-day work.

This is a full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday

Hybrid work arrangement (50% in-office, 50% remote)

Flex hours encouraged to support work-life balance

Occasional early mornings or evenings may be required to support events

Three weeks of vacation per year

Paid sick days available

Group health and dental benefits available after three months of full-time permanent employment

Eligibility to participate in The Chamber's Group RRSP after one year of service

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR



Required Qualifications:



- 1-3 years of experience coordinating programs and/or events, including logistics, scheduling, and communication with participants

- Demonstrated knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles and concepts, with the ability to apply them thoughtfully in program design, communication, and engagement

- Experience working with equity-deserving groups or on initiatives that promote inclusion and belonging

- Comfortable facilitating or supporting discussions around equity, inclusion, and leadership with diverse audiences

- Competent using basic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite) to make simple updates to graphics, event materials, and digital content

- Comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)

- Availability for occasional early morning or evening work during events

- Legally entitled to work in Canada

- Skilled at writing clear, professional messages and basic promotional content in English

- Comfortable sharing updates and asking questions in a way that keeps others informed and work moving forward

- Demonstrates attention to detail when preparing materials, updating content, or entering information

- Able to work independently and recognize when to check in or ask for input

- Comfortable collaborating with different teams and building relationships with external partners

- Proactive in identifying ways to improve how tasks are done or solve small problems before they grow

- Committed to valuing and promoting respect, equity, and inclusion while engaging in continuous learning

- Able to contribute to a respectful and positive working environment

- Service-oriented when engaging with members and the Chamber community

- Understands the importance of consistent communication within a team

- Willing to continue learning and growing in the role

Preferred Qualifications:



- Experience working or volunteering in a nonprofit, membership-based, or community-focused organization

- Understanding of the local business or nonprofit landscape in Winnipeg

- Comfortable using tools like project trackers, shared folders, or simple CRM systems
